A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. TWO TO CONTRACT
FOR THE MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DRIVE EXTENSION FROM 6TH
STREET N.E. WEST TO N. MAIN STREET; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,
the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 11th day of
December, 2000, in Resolution No. 2000-181, award the contract for Martin Luther King, Jr.

Drive Extension fro m 6th Street N.E. west to N. Main Street Project,” to Stephens & Sons
Concrete; and,
WHEREAS,
the acting City Engin eer, Frank Davis, acting as project engineer,
recommends the amendment of the contract for said project to reflect a lineal footage change in
item #1 of the unit price schedule and providing for a net decrease of $5,000.00 in the contract
price, for a total contract price of $444,775.00; and,
WHEREAS,
the form of Change Order No. Two, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should,

in all things, be approve d, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute the same;
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PAR IS,
TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2.
That the form of Change Order No. Two to the Contract for the “Martin
Luther King, Jr. Drive Extension from 6th Street N.E. west to N. Main Street Project,” attached
hereto as Exhibit A, to reflect a lineal footage change in item #1 of the unit price schedule and
providing for a net decrease of $5,000.0 0 in the contract price, for a total contract price of
$444,775.00, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
Section 3.
That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City of Paris, said Change Order No. Two, upon the terms and conditions and in
the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
Section 4.
That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
