AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN
BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, 1'ARIS, TEXAS, AND THE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TEFZRITORY CONSISTING OF 50.31 ACRES,
MORE OR LESS, VJHICH IS LESS TFAN TEN PER CENT (10%) OF THE
TERRITORY INCLUDED WITHIN ITS PRESENT CITY LIMITS, WHICH SAID
TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND AAJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TExAS.
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the
City of Paris, Paris, Texas, where all interested persons were
provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed
annexation of the following described property:
Situated in the County of Lamar and State of Texas,
and described as follows:
Beginning in the present City Limits Line that now
exists in the South Right-of-Way Line of State Highway
Loop 286 N.W., as described in Annexation Ordinance No.
1617, dated February 11, 1963, Tract #2, said point
being 1996.4 feet more or less in a Southwest direction
with the South Right-of-Way Line of Loop 286 F.M. r79e
Southwest corner of the Leg of State Highway ,
and also being the Northwest corner of a tract of land
conveyed by the City of Paris to the Paris Texas
Industrial Foundation, Inc., now owned by the Southeastern
Rubber.Company, of which the Foundation Tract is recorded
in Volume 360, Page 238, Deed Records of Lamar County,
Texas.
THENC E South 220 00 East with the West Boundary Line
of the Rubber Company Tract 874.8 feet to the Southwest
Corner of said tract in the North Line of a 50 foot strip
of land reserved by the Industrial Foundation for a
railroad spur.
THENCE North 68000 East with the South Boundary Line
of the Rubber Company Tract 1054.5 feet more or less to
a point in the North Line of the Right-of-Way of the
Industrial Spur, said point being an extension of the
West Boundary Line of Tract of Land owned by L. B. B.
Corporation, and of which a description of said tract is
recorded in Volume 360, Page 321, Deed Records of Lamar
County, Texas.
THENCE South 51 feet more or less to the South Right-
of-Way Line of the Industrial Spur, and being the North-
west corner of the L. B. B. Tract and continuing on South
288.5 feet to the Southwest Corner of said L. B. B. Tract
and the Northwest Corner of a second L. B. B. Tract of
Land described in Volume 367, Page 491, Deed Records of
Lamar County, Texas, and continuing on South with the
West Boundary Line of the L. B. B. Second Tract for an
additional 213 feet to the Southwest corner of the
L. B. B. Second Tract, a corner in the North Boundary
Line of a tract of land now owned by the Paris
Industrial Foundation.
THENCE East with the South Boundary Line of the
L. B. B. Second Tract 710 feet to a point 5 feet West
of the West Boundary Line of 19th Street N. W. (F..M. 79).
and also being the Northwest corner of a tract of land
conveyed by the City of Paris to the Paris Texas
Industrial Fou.ndation, Inc., now owned by the Southeastern
Rubber Company, of which the Foundatian Tract is recorded
in Volume 360, Page 238, Deed Records of Lamar County,
Texas.

THENCE Ea.st with the South Boundary Line of the
L. B. B. Second Tract 710 feet to a point 5 feet West
of the West Boundary Line of 19th Street N. W. (F.M. 79).
THIIVCE North parallel and 5 feet West of the West
Boundary Line of 19th N. W. 1641.5 feet more or less
to a point in the px'esent City Limits Line as de-
scribed in Annexation Ordinance No. 1617, a point where
the present City Limits Line located alongthe South
Right-of-Way of Loop 286 connects with the present
City Limits Line running North across the Loop on the
West side of theLake Road.
Containing 50.31 Acres more or less of land.
Section 2. The above described territory and area so
annexed shall be a part of the City of Paris, Texas, and the
property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the
taxes levied by the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and the in-
habitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and
privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts,
ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas. That the above property shall be annexed under
the zoning classification of Heavy Industrial (HI) as is pro-
vided for under Zoning Ordinance No. 1710 of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published and passed
in the manner provided in Article II, Section 7, of the Charter
of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas.

was held at Paris, Texas, on the 9th day of March, 1970, which
date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to
the institution of annexation proceedings; and,
WHEREAS, notice of such public hearin g was published in a
newspaper having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas,
and in the above described territory, on the 20th day of February,
1970, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days
prior to the date of such public hearing; and,
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
is in excess of 5,000 and less than 25,000 inhabitants; and,
WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Paris,
Texas ; and,
WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to
an d adjoins the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 50.31
acres, more or less, which is less than ten per cent (10%) of
the present acreage contained in the corporate limits of the
City of Paris, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PAR I S, T F.XAS :
Section 1. The following described land and territory
lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
is hereby added and annexed to the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be in-
cluded within the boundary limits of the City of Paris,
Texas, and the present boundary limits of said city, at the
various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described,
are altered and amended so as to include said area within the
corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas, to-wit:
Situated in the County of Lamar and State of Texas,
and described as follows:
Beginning in the present City Limits Line that now
exists in the South Right-of-Way line of State Highway
Loop 286 N.W., as described in Annexation Ordinance No.
1617, dated February 11, 1963, Tract #2, said point
being 1996.4 feet more or less in a Southwest direction
with the South Right-of-Way Line of Loop 286 from the
Southwest corner of the Leg of State Highway F.M. 79,
