BACKGROUND:
At the Council meeting of June 11, 2012, City Council made appointments to the Paris-Lamar County
Board of Health. City Staff was directed to bring a Resolution to the June 25th meeting reflecting those
appointments.
Lamar County Commissioners' Court will be considering the appointments at their meeting on June 25
at 9:00 a.m.

A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
AND THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS, APPOIIVTING
MEMBERS TO THE PARIS-LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH; MAKING
OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris and the Lamar County Commissioners
Court considered appointments to the Paris-Lamar County Board of Health at their regularly
scheduled meetings, and the City Council of the City of Paris and the Lamar County
Commissioners Court, do hereby recommend the appointments of Ms. Kristi Martin, citizen and
Dr. Keith House, Doctor of Veterinary Science for a term of one year term beginning July 1, 2012
and ending June 30, 2013; Dr. William George, Doctor of Dental Science and Dr. Rick Erickson,
Doctor of Medicine for a two year term beginning July 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2014; Dr.
Lav Singh, Doctor of Medicine and Dr. Mark Gibbons, Doctor of Medicine for a three year term
beginning July 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2015; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
TEXAS AND THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That Kristi Martin, citizen and Dr. Keith House, Doctor of Veterinary Science
are hereby appointed to serve as members of the Paris-Lamar County Board of Health for a one
year term, beginning July 1, 2012, and ending June 30, 2013; that Dr. William George, Doctor of
Dental Science and Dr. Rick Erickson, Doctor of Medicine are hereby appointed to serve as
members of the Paris-Lamar County Board of Health for a two year term beginning July 1, 2012
and ending June 30, 2014; and that Dr. Lav Singh, Doctor of Medicine and Dr. Mark Gibbons,
Doctor of Medicine are hereby appointed to serve as members of the Paris-Lamar County Board
of Health for a three year term beginning July 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2015.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
