5ECTION l. That Ordinance No. 1518 bes and the same is hereby <br />amended as follows: <br />Effective with the gas bills rendered on and after the date of passage <br />and approval of this ordinance, the general service rate for the sale of <br />natural gas rendered to residential and commercial consumers within the City <br />Limits of Pariss Texas, by Lone Star Gas Company, a Texas corporation, its <br />successors and assigns, is hereby fixed and determined as follows: <br />First 1, 000 cubic feet or fraction thereof $l. 67 gross; $1. 50 net <br />All over 1,000 cubic feet @$.8433 gross per MCF; $.759 net per MCF <br />No gas bill wi11, be rendered to any residential or commercial consumer served <br />under the above rate not consuming any gas during any monthly billing period. <br />ADJUSTMENTS <br />The amount of each net monthly bill computed at the above stated rates <br />shall be subject to the following adjustments: Plus 1/2 of 1°jo of the amount <br />computed at the above stated rates for each whole point by which the average <br />of the 12 most recent monthly values for the "A1X Item Consumer Price" Index <br />compiled by the United States Department of Labor on a 1957-1959 base, or <br />adjusted thereto9 exceeds 112; plus or minus the amount of any increase or <br />decrease, respectively= in the present authorized intra-company city gate <br />charge as fixed by the Railroad Commission of the State of Texas or other re- <br />gulatory body having jurisdiction for gas delivered to Lone Star Gas Companyxs <br />distribution system for sale to residential and commercial consumers in the <br />City of Paris; plus an amount equivalent to the proportionate part of any new <br />tax, or increased rate of tax' or governmental imposition or charge (except <br />state,, county, city and special district ad valorem taxes and any taxes on net <br />income) levied or assessed against the Company or on its gas business, as <br />the result of any new or amended law, ordinance or contract, after January 1, <br />1966. Each gross monthly bill shaU be adjusted proportionately. Company at <br />its option may forego the application of any adjustment if such adjustment wou.ld <br />result in an increase in the monthly bill; however, failure of Company to apply <br />any adjustment shall not constitute a waiver of Companyzs rightg from time to <br />time or at any time, to make any adjustment in whole or in part, in any sub- <br />sequent current monthly bill that may be applicable to such bill under the pro - <br />visions of the foregoing adjustments. Provided, however, that none of the <br />foregoing adjustments wi11 be made by the Lone Star Gas Company without <br />notice to the City Council of the City of Paris and after a hearing thereon if <br />demanded by the City Council. <br />Net rate shall apply to a11, bills paid within ten days from monthly billing <br />date. <br />The above rate is applicable to each residential and commercial con- <br />sumer per month or for any part of a month for which gas is used at the same <br />locatio n. <br />
