ORDINANCE NO, 1808 . AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT TO CON- STRUCT AND ORRATE AN AUTO LAUNDRY IN A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT, TO W, T. MURPHY, UNDER ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS4 FOR A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED BETWEIIV 28TH STREET, N.W. AND 29TH 5TREET, N,W., IMMEDIATELY EA5T OF THE MAIN BUSINESS DISTRICT OF SAID BLOCK, AND 24 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF THE W. T. MURPHY TRACT; AN ORDINANCE DETAILING THE CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH SPECIFIC USE a'ERMIT I5 ISSUED AND SPELLING OUT THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE OPERATION OF SUCH AUTO LAUNDRY; AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RULES OF OPENING AND CLOSING AND PRO- HIBITING EXCESSIVE NOISES ON THE PREMISES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, W. T. Murphy has filed an application for an amendment to Zoning +Jrdinance No,. 1710, to change from a General Retail District to a Specific Use Permit District, under Section 12y Paragraph 100s Sub- paragraph (3), to operate an auto laundry in said General Retail District; and, WHEREAS, considerable opposition developed in the area, and after a fu11 and complete hearing before the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council of the City of Paris, the City Council is of the opinion that said auto laundry in a retail district can be so operated as to be an asset to the neighborhood and could be so operated as to be a detriment to the neigh- borhood; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS9 TEXAS: Section 1, That the City of Paris issue to W. T. Murphy, and it does hereby issue a specific use permit authorizing the use of the property in- volved for an auto Iaundry in a General Retail District, under Section 12, Paragraph 100, Sub-paragraph (3), of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Paris, being Ordinance No. 1710, upon the following terms and conditions: (a) That W. T. Murphy will construct said auto laundry in the General Retail District of masonry construction. (b) That the plat presented to the City Council describes the location of the property invoJ.ved, between 29th Street, N. W, and 28th Street, N, W, , and North of Bonham Street and immediately East and adjacent to the Main Business District of the Shopping Center in said Block. (c) That the auto wash wi11 be operated in an efficient and businesslike manner with due regard for the keeping of noises from its operation to the mini.mum.
