AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE SOUTH EAST SECTION
OF LOOP 286, FROM HIGH4JAY 19 AND HIGHWAY 24 EAST TO THE INTERSECTION
OFFA.RM TO MARKET ROE1D 905, ANT) FIXING THE SPEED LIMIT ON SAID AREA
AT 60 MILES PER HOUR; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVID-
ING FOR A PENALTY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. After a proper engineering study and traffic
count having been made, the State Highway Department has recommended
a proposed speed limit, extending from State Highway 19 and State
Highway 24 East on Loop 286, a distance of 3,286 miles to where
Loop 286 intersects with F. M. Highway 905.
Section 2. The speed limit on Loop 286 from State Highway 19
and State Highway 24 East, a distance of 3.286 miles to where Loop
286 intersects with Farm to Market Highway No. 905, a speed limit
of sixty (60) miles per hour is hereby fixed.
Section 3. The highway strips described in said section of
Loop 286 in detail are attached hereto and made a part of this
ordinance.
Section 4. Al1 ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5. Any person, firm or corporation driving a motor
vehicle in excess of the above speed shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor and upon conviction therefor shall be fined in any sum not
exceeding Two Hundred ($200,00) Dollars.
Section 6, This ordinance shall become eff ective upon
passage and publicationo
