THE STATE OF TEKAS
COUNTY OF LAM_AR
CITY OF PARIS
W1-IEREAS, the City Council of said City deem> it advisable to
issue the bonds of said City for the purposes hereinafter stated,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COTJNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
1, That an election shall be held in said City on the 21st day of
September, 1965, at the following places within said City, and the Presiding
Judge and an Alternate Presiding Judge shall be appointed, and the ma.ximum
iiumber of Clerks which may be selected to serve at said election shall be
fixed by the Mayor as provided by law:
In Ward No. 1 at the Central Fire Station;
In W ard No. 2 at the Grand Hotel Lobby;
In Ward No. 3 at the Lamar County Courthouse, Basement
Assembly Room;
In Wa,rd No. 4 at the Paris High School Gymnasium.
2. That at said election the following Propositions shall be
submitted in accordance wi.th law:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
Shall the City Council of said City be authorized to issue the
bonds of said City, in one or more series or issues, in the aggre-
gate principal amount of $Z, 300, 000, with the bonds of each such
series or issue, respectively, to mature serially wi.thin not to
exceed 35 years from their date, and to bear interest at rates not
to exceed 4-1/2°jo per annum, for the purpose of improving and
extending said City's Waterworks System, with said bonds to be
secured by and payable from a lien on and pledge of the net revenues
of said City's Waterworks and Sewer System? The probable period
of usefulness of the improvements for wnich the bond funds are to be
expended is 50 years. "
PROPOSITION NO. Z
Shall the City Council of said City be authorized to issue the bonds
of said City, in one or more series or issues, in the aggregate prin-
cipal amount of $200, 000, with the bonds of each such series or issue,
respectively, to ma.ture serially within not to exceed 35 years from
their date, and to bear interest at rates not to exceed 4-1/2°o ner
an um, for the parpose of improving and extending said City's Sewer
System, with said bonds to be secured by and payable from a lien on
and pledge of the net revenues of said City's Waterworks and Sewzr
System? The probable period of usefulness of the improvements for
wliich the bond funds are to be expended is 50 years. 11

or printed thereon the following:

4, That only resident, qualified electors who own taxable
property in said City and who have duly rendered the same for taxation
shall be entitled to vote at said election,
5. That notice of said election shall be given by posting a
substantial copy of this Ordinance in each of the Election Wards of said
C:_ty and also at the 'ity Hall, not less than 15 days prior to the date set
for said election; and, a substantial copy of this O.-dinance also shall be
pablished on the same day in each of two successive weeks in a newspaper
of general circulation published in said City, the date of the first publi-
cation to be not less than 14 days prior to the date set for said election.
6. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
