AN ORDINANLE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO, 1594y SECTION 2 THERE-
OF, BY FIXING THE SPEED LIMIT AT 50 MILES PER HOUR ON SPUR HIGH-
WAY 139, FROM THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF tiIGHWAY LOO? 286 EAST
TO THE PRESENT CITY LIMIT LINE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE

BE IT ORDAINED BY Tt3E CITY COUNCIL O-F THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1594, Section 2 thereof9 be amended as
follows:
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or drive any motor
or other vehicle upon the public highway known as Spur Highway
139, leading from Highway Loop 286 to Farm to Market Road
1959 at a rate of speed in excess of fifty (50) miles per houra
wliich maximum speed limit shal], beapplicable upon said street
over said area.
Section 2. That the speed zone strip prepared by the Texas Highway
Department is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished
by a fine not to exceed Two H-undred ($200. 00) Dollars.
Section 4. All orda.nances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby expressly repealed.
S'ection 5. This ordinance shall become effective on the 25th day of
January,, A.D., 1966.
