AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPER TIES LOCATED IN THE CITY OF PARIS,, TEXAS, BELONGING TO VARIOUS OW?:1ER,S, AND AN ORDINANCE O'~` THE iITY COTJNLIL FiNDING THE MATERIALS REMAINING IN THE PREMiSES TO CONSTITUTE A NUSA,NCE .AND TO BE A FIRE HAZ.ARD TO LIFE AND PR,OPERTY AND A HAZ.ARD TO THE LIFE 4ND W:ELFARE (JF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA, AND ORDERING SAID RUBBISH,, LUMBERs AN:D REFUSE FROM THE HOTJSES TO '3E TORN DO'JdN AND REMOVED FROM THE PRE.MISES,, IN ORDER TO ABATE SUCH NUISANCE. WHEREAS, a public hearing was, on the 14th day of March, A. D„, 1966, called to order by the Mayor of the City of Parisa V. E. Stewart, at 7:00 ojcl,ock P. M., in the City Council Room, in the City of Paris, Texas; and: WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Hazard Inspection Com_mi.ttee fixed a date for hearing on the resolution referred to the Committee by the City Council on January 10, 1966, and that said Commi.ttee fixed said hearing at 10:00 ot'clock A. M. , on the 28th day of February, A. D., 1966, and the hearing was had thereon. That proper notice was given to the owner or owners of the structures located at the following addresses: 721 Wood Street; 1324 - 12th Street, S. E. ; 1333 - 12th Street, S. E. ; 1716 West Campbell Street; On13th Street, S. W,, Block 229, Lot 6; 1408 West Houston Street; East Blake 5treet, Block 228, Lot 1; 1033 - 7th Street, N. E,,; 705 - 5th Street, S. E. That at said hearing the Comrnittee listed the structures involved and introduced pictures of the various portions of the structures and various portions of the pre- mises involved. That the Committee found that each of the above structures was in such state of deterioration and dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to life and property and that each of said buildings was dilapidated and was dan- gerous to life and property and dangerous structures to life and property. That said buildings are in such a state of dilapidation and decay that none of said struc- tures are capable of repair. It is further found that the condition of the premises and structures involved were such that the Commi.ttee recominended to the City Council that they be declared a nuisance and that the owners thereof be ordered by the City Council to tear down and remove the same from the lots involved,. That said Committee filed a complete report of its hearing and its findings with the City Clerk of the City of Paris on the 14th day of March, A. D,, 1966; and, WHEREAS, the CityCouncil has fully heard and considered the testimony presented upon the hearing and a complete transcript of the testimony reported by the Building Hazard Inspection Committee; NOWi THEREFORE& BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE GITY OF PARIS„ TEXA S: Sectian 1, That the structures located at 721 Wood Street4 1324 - 12th Street, S. E. ; 1333 - 12th Street9 S. E. ; On 13th Street, S. Wa 9 Block 229, Lot 6; 1408 West Houston Street; and 1033 - 7th Street, N. E., are a nuisance, and that they are hereby declared a nuisance, in that they are dangerous to life and pro - perty, and that the same constitute a fire hazard to life and property, and that the respective owners are hereby ordered to abate such nuisance within thirty (30) days from the date hereof. The City Manager is directed to furnish the owners a copy of this ordinance in theevent the address of said owners are known, and in the event the respective owners refuse to comply with this order, the City Attorney, Ben F.
