A FEE OF $25.00 FOR EAGH RENEWAL FOR EACH YEAR THEREAFTER; PROVII?ING FOR A PE NALTY; ANI? PR OVII?IlVG FOR AN EFFEC TIVE I?A TE. BE IT ORI?A 1NEI? BY THE C ITY C OUNC LL.. OF THE C ITY OF PA RTS: That Ordinance No. 1274, passed by the City Council on the lOth day of November, 1952, be, and the same is hereby amended as follows: Section 1. That the 1962 National Electrical Code, governing installa- tions and wiring of electric installations, together with all subsequent amendments thereto, are hereby adopted by the City of Paris, Texas, with the following limita.tions and exceptions: (1) Section 210-22, Subsection (b) of said National Electrical Code is hereby amended to read as follows: That on all dwelling type occupancies, in every kitchen, dining room, breakfast room, living room, parlor, library, den, sun- room, recreation room, and bedroom, receptacle outlets shall be insta.lled so that no point along the floor line in any useable wall space is more than 6 feet, measured horizontally from an outlet in that space, including any useable wall space 2 feet wide or greater and the wall space occupied by sliding panels in exterior walls. The receptacle outlets shall, insofar as practicable, be spaced equal distances apart. Receptacle out- lets in floors shall not be counted as part of the required num- ber of receptacle outlets unless located close to the wall. (2)Service Entrance Cables: All service entrance cables from the meter socket to the panel shallhe installed in either of the following three ways: (a) The disconnect shall be located back of the meter in inside of wall with conduit nipple. (b) If the service eritrance cable is placed in conduit from the meter socket to the panel, no main disconnect shall be required at the meter, (c) Any service cable from the meter socket to the main disconnect shall be enclosed in conduit. (3) The minimum size of all service disconnects shall be 50 amp. (4) Service Panel Breakers: All service panel breakers, known as Piggy-back, tandums, twins, thins, or any other of this type disconnect, are hereby prohibited on new or repair in- s ta lla tion s. (5) No trailer house will be insta.lled and connected with the electrical service, which does not have a driven ground or water pipe ground connected to the trailer house and equipped with polarized plug ins. Section 2. That Section 9 of Ordinance No. 1274, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: ~ Before a license shall be granted to an applicant as an electrical contractor as defined in said ordinance, a fee of $100. 00 shall be paid to the City of Paris, Texas, for the first years license, and the applicant shall execute and deliver to the City Clerk for approval, a bond in the sum of $500. 00, having as surety thereon a recognized surety company authorized to do business in this State, said bond to be conditioned for the faithful work for all work en- tered upon or contracted for, in strict accordance with the terms and requirements of this ordinance. Such license, when issued, shall entitle the holder thereof to engage in the business of electrical contractor for a period of one year from the date of issuance, unless sooner revoked, and may be renewed by the holder upon the payment of an annual renewal fee of $25. 00 and the renewal of the bond re- quired herein. Section 3. All ordina.nces and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemeO guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction therefor, shall be fined in any sum not exceeding Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars, and each and every day's continuance of any violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall constitute and be deemed a separate offense. " Section 5. This ordinance shall be and become effective on the 15th da y. of February, A. D, , 1963. Passed and adopted this 14th day of January, A.
