AN QRDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1495 OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1594, AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 16242 AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1625, REGULATING SPEED OF
MOTOR VEHICLES UPON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY QF PARIS,
LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION
HEREOF; REPEALING ALL QRDINANCES OR PART5 OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT OKDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1495, Ordinance No. 1594, Qrdinance No.
1624, and Ordinance No, 1625, be, and the same are hereby amended, by
designating herein speed limits over certain areas within the City Limits, on
the specified streets as follows:
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or drive any motor
or other vehicle at a rate of speed in ex.cess of twenty (20) miles per hour,
on the following streets and portions of streets:
(1) On 28th Street, S. E., beginning at the North West Corner
of a tract of land belonging to the Paris Independent
School District, where Crockett Junior High School is now
located, and continuing South to the South West Corner of
the aforesaid lot,
(2) On Graham Street, beginning at the South East Corner of
a tract of land owned by the Paris Independent School
District, upon which is located Travis Junior High School,
and continuing West to the South West Corner of the
aforesaid tract of land.
Section 2. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine not
exceedft Two Hundred ($200.00) Dol:lars,.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby ex.pressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on the 30th day of
October, 1963,
