On June 9, 2001 our department received information from Bonham,
Texas Police Department that there had been an armed hi - jacking of a
vehicle in their city by three armed suspects. You were able to locate the
suspect vehicle in our city and gave information to your Patrol Officers
alerting them that the armed suspects were in a highly populated
residential area of our city. You assisted in the search for and seizure of
the three - armed men, each of which were carrying heavy caliber
weapons on their persons when located and arrested.
You are hereby commended for your brave and courageous actions on
this date. You responded to a very dangerous call and placed yourself at
risk while protecting the citizens in the surrounding residential
neighborhood and streets. There is no doubt in my mind that if you had
not diligently conducted your search and subsequent arrests of the
suspects that there would have been further criminal activity. There is
no telling what might have occurred except for your gallant police worla

job well done. You can take pride in the fact that your work on this day
most likely saved an innocent victim of crime from a lifetime of pain
and horror. Without regard for yourself, you placed yourself in harm's
