BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That the following described territory in Lamar County,
Texas, lying adjacent to the present boundary limits of the City of Paris,
be, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Paris and admitted into
the corporation of said City, and is hereby made and constituted a part
and portion of the City of Paris, and the Boundary Limits of the City of
Paris are hereby extended so as to include and embrace said territory and
to conform to same as herein set out, to-wit;
Situated in the County of Lamar and Sta,te of Texa.s, and described
as followsa
Beginning at a point where the W. B. Line of 25th Street, N. E.
intersects the N. B. Line of the North City Limits of the City of
Paris;
Thence North with the W. B. Line of 25th Street, N. E. to the
present City Limit Line of a portion of Hillcrest Addition;
Thence West and North with the present City Limit Line in
Hillcrest Addition to Farm to Market Road No. 195;
Thence South West with the South Boundary Line of Farm to
Market Road 195 to where Farm to Market Road 195 intersects
the Eastern City Limit Line of the City of Paris;
Thence South with the E. B. Line of the present City Limits
to an E. B. Line of the present City Limits at a point approxi-
mately 200 feet East of where Tudor Street intersects 20th Street,
N. E.;
Thence East with said North City Limit Line to the pla.ce of
beginning.
The inhabita.nts within said annexed territory are and shall hereafter
be entitled to enjoy all the rights, privileges and immunities of citizens of
the City of Paris, and all laws, ordinances, rules, resolutions, acts, and
regulations of said City now in force in said City of Paris, and that may be
hereafter passed, shall be and are in full force and effect in said territory
hereby annexed and admitted; said area to be admitted under a Residenti.a.l
zoning classification.
Section 2. Tha,t the present boundaries of Ward Four of the City of
Paris be, and the same are hereby extended so as to embrace and include
within said Ward Four all of said property which is described above, and
the same is hereby incorporated in said Ward Four of the City of Paris.
Section 3. The City Engineer is hereby instructed to make a complete
survey of the above described territory and to mark the boundaries thereof
by proper monuments; and to survey, establish and open, under the direction
of the City Manager, all streets, roads, alleys and ways in said territory
dedicated to public use; and to make and file with the City Clerk a complete
map of said newly annexed territory showing all property lines, lots, and
tracts therein, together with the names of the owners of same, and all
streets, alleys, roads and ways dedicated to public use; and to immediately
correct the map of the City of Paris so as to add thereto, the additional
territory described herein, indicating on such ma,p the date ofannexation,
the number of the ordinance and reference to the minutes or ordinance
records of the City of Paris where such instrument is recorded in full.
Section 4. The City Tax Alssessor and Collector of Taxes of the City
of Paris is hereby directed to list all lots, tracts and property situated in
said annexed territory on the ta.x rolls of the City of Paris and hereafter
to assess same for taxes in accordance with law.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective upon final passage.
Introduced at a regula.r meeting of the City Council on the 13th day of
March, A. D., 1961.
Passed on first reading on March 13, 1961; passed on second reading
on April 10, 1961; and passed on final reading on May 8, 1961a
