AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13183, KNOWN AS THE
MILK ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, SECTION 7, ITEM 26r,
"VEHICLES AND SURROUNDINGS", BY DELETING ALL OF ITEM 26r AND
SUBSTITUTING THEREFOR THE REQUIR.EMENT THAT ALL VEHICLES
USED FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF MILK PRODUCTS MEET CERTAIlV
SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS AND SHALL BEAR THE GRADE
OF MILK THER.EON, THE NAME OF THE HOLDER OF THE PERMIT UNDER
WHICH THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED, ANI? THE NUMBER OF SUCH PERMIT
IN PLAIN, LEGIBLE LETTERS AND NUMERALS NOT LESS THAN THREE
INCHES IN HEIGHT ON BOTH SIDES OF SAID VEHICLE, THE NAME AND
NUMBER TO BE IN PLACE AT ALL TIMES WHEN VEHICLE IS BEING USED
FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF MILK PRODUCTS; PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY AS PROVIDED IN SEC TION 18 OF SAID ORI?FNANCE; AND PROVID-
ING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Section 7, Item 26r, of Ordinance No. 1318, which was
passed by the City Council of the City of Paris on March 15, 1954, be, and
the same is hereby amended as follows:
That Item 26r be deleted, and that the following requirements be in-
serted under "Vehicles and Surroundings":
All vehicles used for the transporta,tion of milk or milk products shall
be constructed and operated so as to protect their contents from the sun, from
freezing, and from contamination. All vehicles shall be kept clean, and no sub-
stance capable of contaminating milk or milk products shall be transported
with milk or milk products in such manner as to permit contamination. All
vehicles used in the transporting of milk or milk products in the City of Paris
shall bear the grade of milk, as well as the name of the holder of the permit
under which such vehicle is operated, and the number of such permit in plain,
legible letters and numerals, not less than three inches in height on both sides
of said vehicle, and said name and number shall be in place at all times when
said vehicle is being used for the transporta.tion of milk or milk products.
The immediate surroundings of the dairy shall be kept in a clean, neat
condition.
Section Z. The penalty provided in Section 18 of Ordinance No. 1318 is
hereby adopted for each violation under this amendment.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on the lst day of
July, A. D., 1961.
