AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING QRDINANCE OF THE
CITY CjF PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES
ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A
"G" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT ON THENOR.TH SIDE CF CLARKSVILLE
STR,EET, IMMEDIATELY NORTH OF THE WESTINGHOUSE PLANT, ON
TWO TR,AGTS BELONGING TO DALLAS UTILITY COMPANY, IN-
CORPORATED, BEING A PORTION OF A PROPOSED NEW SUBDIVISION
KNOWN AS JOHNSON WOODS ESTATES, SO AS TO INGLUDE THEREIN
TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT;
DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE "G" COMMERGIAL DISTRIGT
SO ESTABLISHED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNGIL OF THE CITY OF
PA RIS :
Section 1. That the boundaries heretofore esta,blished by the
Zoning Map and Ordinances of the City of Paris, be, and the same are
hereby changed, and that a"G" Commercial District be, and the same is
hereby esta,blished on the Nor-th Side of Clarksville Street, immediately
North of the Westinghouse Plant, and described hereinafter in two tracts,
on property belonging to Dallas Utility Company, Incorporated, so as to
include in such "G" Commercial District the hereinafter described property,
which was formerly and is presently designated as a Residential District,
and that the boundaries of said "G" Commercial District be, and the same
are hereby established as follows:
BEING two tracts of land situated in the George W. Cox and
Joseph Leach Survey, Lamar County, Texas, and being out of
a 206.4 acre tract conveyed to Mary Virginia Hocker and
Charles M. Johnson by MQ,r,gan P. Johnson and Maggie C.
Johnson as recorded in Book 335, Page 231 of the Deed
Records of Lamar County,"Texas, and being more parti-
cularly described as follows;
TRACT "A": BEGINNING at a point on the northerly line of
U. S. Highway No. 271, said point being the southwest corner
of a tract formerly owned by W. B. Cheatham, said point also
being the beginning of a curve to the right having a tangent
bearing N?8°43'17"W, a radius of 5321.48' and a central
angle of 2°10'08", for corner;
THENCE in a westerly direction and around ssid curve
of the northerly line of U. S. Highway No. 271, 201. 44' to a
point on the easterly line of a proposed 50' street, for corner;
THENCE along said easterly line of proposed 50' street

tract, 372.50' to the Place of Beginning and containing 1. 46
acres of land.
TR.ACT "B": COMMENCING at a point on the northerly line of
U. S. Highway No. 271, said point being the southwest corner
of a tract formerly owned by W. B. Cheatham, said point being
the beginning of a curve to the right, said curve having a
tangent bearing N780 4311711W, a radius of 5321.48' and a
central angle of 2042126";
THENCE in a westerly direction and around said curve of
the northerly line of. U. S. Highway No. 271, 251.44' to the Place
of Beginning, said point being on the westerly line of a proposed
50' street, said point also being the beginning of a curve to the
right, said curve having a ta,ngent bearing N76000151 "W, a
radius of 5321. 48' and a central angle of 8°03'28" for corner;
THENCE in a westerly direction and around said curve of
the northerly line of U. S. Highway No. 271, 748. 38' to a point
on the easterly line of a proposed 60' street, for corner;
THENCE N22°22' E and along said easterly line of proposed
60' street, 320. O1' to the beginning of a curve to the left, said
curve having a ta,ngent bearing S670 58'37"E, a radius of 5001, 48'
and a central angle of 50 3712311, for corner;
THENCE in an easterly direction and around said curve,
490.851, a point for corner;
THENCE S730 361E, 144. 39' to a point on said westerly line
of proposed 50' street, for corner;
THENCE along said westerly line of proposed 50' street as
follow s:
SO°44'E, 213.34' to the beginning of a curve to the right,
said curve having a radius of 369. 41' and a central angle of
14°27f, for corner;
In a southerly direction and around said curve, 93.171, a
point for corner;
S13°43'W, 19.89' to the Place of Beginning and conta.ining
5.13 acres of land.
Section Z. That the City Engineer of the City of 1'aris be, and he
is hereby directed to change the Zoning Map of the Cityof Paris, in
accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1409, as amended, and
in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
passage.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the Cityof Paris in
regular session convened at Council Chambers on this the lOth day of
July, A. D., 1961.
