1564 ORD AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 1406 ARTICLE XXI SECTION 4 SUBSECTION (d)ORDINANCE NO. 1564 , AN ORDTNANCE AMENDING ORI?INANCE NO. 14069 ARTICLE XXI, SECTION 4, SUBSECTION (d), REGULATED ALL-DAY METERED PARK- ING, AND ORDINANCE NO. 1537, SECTION 1(d), BY ELIMINATING ALL DAY PARKING METER SPACES USTNG TEN CENT COIN5 ANI? BY ADD- ING THERETO A NEW SUBSEGTION REGULATING TWO HOUR PARKING FOR A FIVE CENT COiN OR FOUR HOUR PARKING FOR TWO FIVE GENT COINS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND PRO- VIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE GITY OF PARI5: Section 1. Tha.t Ordinance No. 1406, Article XXI, Section 4, 5ub- section (d), Regulated All-Day Metered Parking, and Ordinance No. 1537, Section 1(d), be amended by deleting therefrom, twenty-five ten cent coin parking spaces on the North Side of Lamar Aven»e, between 3rd Street, E. and 6th Street, N N. E. ; by deleting therefrom four ten cent metered . parking spaces on the South Side of Lamar Avenue, betaween 3rd Street, S.E. and 4th Street, S. E., on the East Portion thereof; by deleting eight ten cent nze'tered parking spac es on the West Side of 4th Street, S. E., between Lamar Avenue and Clarksville Street; by deleting therefrom eight ten cent metered parking spac es on the North Side of Clarksville Street, between 4th Street, S. E. and 3rd Str.eet, S. E. ; by deleting therefrom eight ten cent metered parking spaces on the East Side of 3rd Street, S. E., between Lamar Avenue and Clarksville Street; and by deleting therefrom three ten cent metered parking spaces immediately North of Clarksville Street and on the West Side of 3rd Street, S. E, , between Lamar Av'enue and Clarksville Street. Section 2. That Ordinance No. 1406, Article XXI, Section 4, and Ordinance No. 1537, Section 1, be amended by adding thereto, Subsection (e), as follow s: (e) Regulated Two Hour and Four Nour Metered Parking. The following described areas, streets or portions thereof, are hereby desig- nated as regulated two hour meteri~td parking zones and regulated four hour metered parking zones, and parking or standing of vehicles at or within such areas or zones shall be regulated between the hours of 8:00 otclock A. M. and 6:00 otclock P. M. of each day, except Sundays and legal holi:days, as hereinafter provided, to-wit: On Lamar Avenue, twenty•five (25) metered parking spaces, on the North Side, between 3rd 5treet, N. E. and bth Stree4 N. E. On Lamar Avenue, four (4) metered parking spaces, on the South Side thereof, between 'Ird ctreet, S. E. and 4th Street, S. E, On 4th Street, S. E., eight (8) metered parking spaces, on the West Side thereof, between the South Side of I:.amar Avenue and the North Side of Clarksville Street. On Clarksville Street, eight (8) metered parking spaces, on the North Side thereof, between 4th Street, S. E. and 3rd Street, S.E. On 3rd Street, S. E., eight (8) metered parking spaces, on the East Side thereof, between the South Side of Lamar Avenue and the North Side of Clarksville Street. On 3rd Street, S. E., three (3) metPrPd parking spaces, on the West Side thereof, on the South portion between the South Boundary Line of Lanzar Avenue a.nd the North Bounda,ry Line of Clarksvi.lle Street. provided, however, that every person who desires to park or stand a vehicle in a metered parking space provided for any such area, street or portion of street, beginning at any time after 8:00 oiclock A. M. and prior to 5:00 oiclock P. M. on any such regulated day, shall immediately deposit one or two five cent coins of the United States in the parking meter alongside of and next to such parking space. If one such five cent' coin is so deposited, such person sha.ll be entitled to park continuously at such location for the period of time from the deposit thereof for two hours. If two five cent coins are deposited at such time, such person shall be entitled to park con- tinuously at suc,h location for a period of four hours from the time of such deposit. That no person shall park in any of the above metered parking spaces continuously for a longer period of time than four hours. Any per- son who shall Park an automobile or other vehicle at or upon any of such regulated parking spaces or area where two hour and four hour meters are insta,lled, without depositing a five cent coin or two five cent coins of the United States as herein required and provided, shall be guilty of illegal parking or standing of vehicles and shall be subject to the penalty herein- after provided. In the event any person parks or stands an automobile or other vehicle at or upon any such metered parking space for a period of time heyond that allowed and provided for the coin or coins deposited, he shall be guilty of the offense of tbver parkingt' and shall be subject tQ the penalties hereinafter provided. Section 3. Any person guilty of the offense of illegal parking or standing of a vehicle, or who shall be guilty of over parking a vehicle in the above metered parking spaces, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined as provided for in the penalty section of Ordinance No. 1406. Section 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 5. The effective date of this ordinance shall be immediately.
