AN ORDINANCE RENEWING THE FRANCHISE QR LEASE TO
SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPAIVY, A MTiSSOURI COR-
POR.ATION, TO USE A PORTION OF THE SURFACE AND SPACE
UNDER THE SURFACE OF THE SII?EWALK AND PARKWAY AI?-
JACENT TO ITS PREMISES ON 2ND STREET} N. E., FOR THE
PURPOSE OF INSTALLTNG, ERECTING, AND MAINTAINIlVG A
VAULT FOR PO-4YER PURPOSES, FGR AN ADDITIONAL TERM OF
TEN (10) YEARS, AND FIXING THE REIVTAL THEREFOR.
BE IT ORDAINED By THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY QF
PA RIS:
WHER.EAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did, on the lOth
day of March, A. D., 1952, grant to the Southwestern Bell Telephone
Company, a Missouri Corporation, a certa,in franchise to use the
following deacribed propertyo
A space 9 feet wide by 20 feet long by 11 feet in depth,
located on the West side of 2nd Street, N. E,, adjacent
to the property line of Southwestern Bell Telephone
Company, and extending 9 feet East frorn said property
line, the south wall of the vault being located 75 feet 9
inches North from the North boundary line of East
Houston Street.
AND WHEREAS, the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company has
requested a renewal of said lease, in order to continue the ope ration
of maintaining a vault for power purposes connected with the use of
its adjacent premises; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT OR.DAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL QF THE CITY OF
PA RIS:
Section 1. That in consideration of the payment provided for in
said franchise and the obligation of the Southwestern Bell Telephone
Company to continue said annual payments provided in said franchise,
the City of Paris does hereby renew and extend said franchise for an
additional term of ten (10) years from the lOth day of Ma,y, 1962, upon
the same terms and conditions provided in said franchise.
