AN ORDINANCE DEFINIlVG THE DUTIES OF POLICE; PRC3VIDING
FOR AND AUTHORIZIlVG ARRESTS WITHOUT WARRANTSp OF PERSONS
FOUND IN SUSPICIOUS PLACES AND UNDER CZRCUMSTANCES WHICH
REASONABLY SHOW THAT SUCH PERSONS HAVE BEEN GUILTY OF
SOME FELONY, BREAGH OF THE PEACE, OR THREATENING OR
ABQUT TO COMMIT SOME OFFENSE AGAINST THE LAWS.
BE IT ORDAINED By THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFF PARZS:
Section 1. All policemen of the City of Paris, Texas, are hereby au-
thorized and empowered, in the exercise of their sound discretion, to
arrest, without warrant therefor, any person or persons found in a suspi-
cious place or found in suspicious places, and under circumsta,nces which
reasonably show that such persons have been guilty of some felony or
breach of the peace, or threatening or are about to commit some offense
against the laws of the nation, state, or against the ordinances of the
City of Paris.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
or with this ordina,nce are hereby repealed.
Section 3, This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
