1569 ORD ANNEXING, ADMITTING, AND INCORPORATING ADDITIONAL TERRITORIES IN LAMAR COUNTYORDINANGE NO. 1569 . AN ORDIlVANCE ANNEXING, ADMITTING, AND INCORPOR.ATING ADDITIONAL TERRITORIES IN LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS, LYING AD-, JACENT TO THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, INTO AND AS A PART OF SAID CITY OF PARISi TEXAS; EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, SO AS TO INCLUDE AND EMBRACE SAID ADJACENT TERRITORIES; CONFERRING ALL RIGHTS, PR.IVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES OF CITIZENSHIP UPON THE INHABITANTS OF SAID TERRITORIES; EXTENDING THE BOUNDARIES OF WARD 4, WARD 1, AND WARD 3, SO AS TO EMBRACE AND INCLUDE ALL OF SAID TERRITORIES AND 1NCORPORATING THE SAME IN SAID WARDS 4, 1, AND 3; PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES, RULES, REGULATIONS, AND LAWS IN EFFEGT IN THE CITY OF PARIS, AND THAT MAY HERE- AFTER BE PASSED, IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT IN SAID TERRf- TORIES AFTER PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE; INSTRUCTING THE GITY ENGINEER TO MAKE A 5URVEY FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE HEREWITH, AND TO CONSTRUCT A COMPLETE MAP OF SUCH TERRITORIES SHOWING THE STREETS, ALLEYS, LOTS, TRACTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS, AND TQ FILE THE SAME WITH THE CITY CLERK AND TO G(,RREGT THE MAP OF THE CITY OF PARIS SO AS TO ADD SUCH TERRITORIES THERETO; AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY ASSESSOR AND COLLECTOR OF TAXES TO LIST ALL PROPERTY THEREIN AND TO PLACE SAME ON THE TAX ROLLS OF THE GITY OF PARIS AND HEREAFTER ASSESS SAME FOR TAXES IN ACCORDANCE WITH LAW. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PA RIS: Section 1. That the following described territories in Lamar County, Texa s, lying adjacent to the present boundary limits of the City of Paris, be, and the same are hereby annexed to the City of Paris and admitted into the corporation of such CitiT, and are hereby made and constituted a part and portion of the City of Paris, and the boundary limits of the City of Paris are hereby extended, so as 'to in- clude and embrace said territories, and to conform to same as herein set out, to-wit: Situated in the County of Lamar anfl' State of Texas, and described as follows: TRACT 1: Beginning at a point in the South B. Line of Loop Highway 286, 500 ft. East of the E. B, L. of' U. S. Highway No. 271, and the same being the present most Northerly N. E. corner of the Gity Limits as now established. Thence in a Northerly direction parallel to and 500 feet East of the E. B. L. of U. S. Highway 271 or North Main Street a distance of 2012 feet more or less to a point in the N. B. L. of a tract of land xxx2edob9c known as the "Pear nrchard Property'; Thence in a Northwesterly direction along the N. B. L. of the Pear Orchard a distance of 500 feet to a point in the E. B. L. of U. S. Highway No. 271 or North Main Street. Thence West perpendicular to U. S. Highway No. 271 to a point in the E. B. L. of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railrcgd,,, Thence in a Southerly direction along the E. B. L. of the St. Louis and San Francisco R.a,ilroad to the intersection of the E. B. L. of the said railroad and the S. B. L. of Loop Highway 286, said point being the most Northerly N. W. corner of the City Limits as now established. Thence in an Easterly direction along the present City Limit Line and the S. B. L. of Loop Highway 286 to the place of beginning and containing .126 square miles of land. TRACT 2: Beginning at a point in the South B. L. of U. S. Highway No. 271 East, known as Clarksville Street, same being the present City Limit Line, at the N. W. corner of the Westinghouse property and the N. E. corner of UARCO, Inc. Thence in a Southerly direction along the common boundary line between uTestinghouse and UARCO, Inc, a dista,nce of 982. 67 feet to a point. Thence South 79 degrees, 24 feet West a distance of 101. 73 feet to a point. Thence in a Southerly direction a distance of 34 feet to a point in the N. B. L. of the Texas and Pacific Railroad, said point being the S. W. corner of Westinghouse and the S. E. corner of UARCO, Inc. Thence S 84 deg, 15 min. East along the N. B. L. of the Texas and Pacific Railroad a dista,nce of 925 feet to the S. E. corner of Westinghouse and the S. W. corner of Luke and George Hendersonts property. Thence North along the Westinghouse-Henderson common B. Line a distance of 793 feet to a point in the S. B. L. of Clarksville Street, said point being the N. E. corner of W e stinghous e. Thence in a Northwesterly direction along the S. B.L. of Clarksville Street 889.66 feet to the place of beginning and containing .027 square miles. The inhabitants within said annexed territories are and sha,ll hereafter be entitled to enjoy all the priwileges and immunities of citizens of the City of Paris, TexaG- and all laws, ordinances, rules, resolutions, acts, and regulations of said City now in force in said City of Paris, Texas, and that may be hereafter passed, shall be in full force and effect in said territories hereby annexed and admitted, said area to be admitted into the City of Paris, Texas, under the zoning classification of "H"Commercial. Section 2. That the present boundaries of Ward 1 of the City of Paris, be, and the same are hereby extended so as to embrace and in- clude within said Ward 1 all of the said property described in Tract 2 above. That the present boundaries of Ward 4 of the City of Paris, be, and the same are he reby extended so as to embrace all of the property described in Tract 1, which lies East of U. S. Highway 271 leading North from Paris. That the present boundaries of Warcl 3 of the City of Paris, be, and the same are hereby extended so as to embrace and include witliin said Ward 3 all of the said property described in Tract 1 above, which lies West of U. S. Highway 271 leading North from the City of Paris, Texas, and the said respective portions are hereby in- corporated in'said Ward 1, Ward 4, and Ward 3 of the City of Paris, Texas. Section 3. The City Engineer is hereby instructed to make a com- plete survey of the above described territories and to mark the bounda- ries thereof by proper monuments; and to survey, establish and open, under the direction of the City Manager, all streets, roads, alleys and ways in said territories dedicated to public use; and to make and file w'ilh the City Clerk a complete map of said newly annexed territories showing all property lines, lots, and tracts therein, together with the names of the owners of same, and all streets, alleys, roads and ways dedicated to public use; and to immediately correct the map of the City of Paris so as to add thereto, the additional territories described herein, indicating on such map the date of annexation, the number of the ordinance and reference to the minutes or ordinance records of the City of Pa,ris where such instrument is recorded in full. Section 4. The City Tax Assessor and Collector of Taxes of the City of Paris is hereby directed to list all lots, tracts and property situated in said annexed territories on the ta.x rolls of the City of Paris and hereafter to assess same for ta.xes in accordance with law. Section 5. This ordinance ; shall become effective upon final passage. Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council on the llth day of September, A. D., 1961.
