AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1310, REPEALING
SECTION 6 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1310, AND REQUIR.]NG THAT AN APPLI-
CATION FOR A PERMIT TO COLLECT, REMOVE, AND D]SPOSE OF GAR-
BAGE OR REFUSE WITHIN THE CITY OF PARI5 SHALL BE MADE TO THE
CTTY ENGINEER OF THE CITY OF PARIS; PR.OVIDIlVG THAT ANY PERMIT
GRANTED SHALL BE VALID FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR FROM
THE DA TE OF 155UANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE TYPE OF CONTAINERS
REQUTRED TO HAUL GARBAGE AND REFUSE; PROVIl?ING FOR AND PRE-
5CRIBING THE TYPE OF BED OR BODY FOR THE TRANSPORTATION,
REMOVAL, AND HAULIlVG OF SUCH REFUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC-
T NE DA TE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PAR]S:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 1310, passed by the City Council of the
City of Paris, on the 14th day of December, A. D. , 1953, be amended, by
repealing S ection 6 thereof.
Se ction 2. That he r eafte r an application for a pe rmit to colle c t, re -
move, and dispose of garbage or refuse within the City of Pa.ris shall be
made to the City Engineer of the City of Pa,ris, and any such permit granted
and issued by him, upon any such application, shall be valid for a pe riod of
one (1) year from the date of issuance thereof. No such permit to collect,
remove and dispose of garbage shall be granted or issued unless and until
the applicant therefor has available for use in the collection, remova.l and
disposition of such garbage, meta,l or other recepta.cles or containers with
securely fitted tops or lids so designed and mainta.ined as to prevent any
leaka,ge or wastage thereof from such containers during the transit thereof
ove r the public s tre e ts of the C ity of Pa, ris ; and no s uch pe rmit to c olle ct,
remove and dispose of refuse shall be issued unless such applicant has
available for use in the collecti.on, removal and disposition of refuse a vehicle
with a bed or body for the transportation, removal and hauling of such refuse
of a type which meets the specifications and requirements of Section 3 of
Or dinance No. 1310. Such receptacles or containers shall be used by the
holder of any such permit at all times while collecting garbage within the City
of Paris and such wehicle with such type body sha.ll be used by the holder of
such permit at all times while collecting refuse within the City of Pa.ris.
Section 3. All ordina.nces or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4e This ordinance sha.ll become effective immedi.ately upon
passage.
