<br />AN ORDINAIVCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1215 PASSED BY THE
<br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS ON THE 24TH DAY OF APRIL,
<br />1950, WHICH ORDINANCE ADOFTS THE 1949 El?ITION OF THE NATIONAL
<br />BUILDING CODE OF THE NA TIONAL BOARD OF FIRE UNDERWRITERS,
<br />PROVII?ING FOR THE OBTAINING OF PERMITS FOR ANY CONSTRUCTION,
<br />ALTERATION, DEMOLITION, REMOVAL, OR SUBSTANTIAL REPAIR. OF A
<br />BUILI?ING, WHICH AMENDS SECTION 1 AND SECTION 3 OF THE NATIONAL
<br />BUILDING COI?E, 1949 EDITION, ANI? PROVIDING FOR REGULATIONS ON
<br />BUILI?ING, AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY OF NOT MORE THAN TWO
<br />HUNDREI? ($200.00) DOLLA,RS FOR EACH DAY'S VIOLATION.
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNGIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />Section 1. That Ordinance No, 1215 be, and the same is hereby
<br />amended by adding thereto the following:
<br />(a) It sha.ll be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to commence
<br />the construction, alteration, remova.l, demolishment, or substantial
<br />repair of a building, without first obta.ining a permit from the City
<br />of Paris for such act or acts,
<br />(b) That each person, firm, or corporation sha.ll apply to the I?irector
<br />of Public Works for a permit to construct, alter, remove, demolish,
<br />or substa.ntially repair a building or structure, on a form prescribed
<br />by the I?epartment of Public Works of the City of Paris, and such
<br />application sha.ll be accompa.nied by plans and specifieations of the
<br />construction, alteration, removal, demolition, or substanti.a.l repair
<br />proposed by the applicant, and said specifications sha.ll contain the
<br />kind of work to be done, the area of the lot, the location of the
<br />building or structure upon the lot, and the number of square feet
<br />of construction in the proposed work.
<br />(c) That any person, firm, or corporation beginning the constructio4
<br />alteration, removal, demolition, or substa.ntia,l repair of any
<br />building or structure, without ha.ving made said application and
<br />obta.ining said permit, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
<br />conviction therefor shall be fined in any sum not exceeding Two
<br />Hundred ($200. 00) Dollars, and each and every day's continuance
<br />of any violation of the provisions of this section shall constitute and
<br />be deemed a separate offenseo
<br />Section 2. That Ordina.nce No. 1215 is hereby further arnended as
<br />follows:
<br />(a) Tha.t no person, firm, or corporation shall erect a residence or
<br />building upon any lot in a residentia.l area and outside the Fire
<br />Limits of the City of Paris, closer than five (5) feet to the side
<br />property line, except a separate garage located at the rear of
<br />the dwelling on said lot, which may be constructed three (3) feet
<br />from the side property line. That in the event the building, if
<br />constructed within three (3) feet of the side property line there
<br />would still exist ten (10) feet between the building being con-
<br />structed and the adjoining building, then the dwelling ma.y be
<br />constructed within three (3) feet of the property line. It is pro••
<br />vided tha.t the above building line regulations shall not affect any
<br />builcfing lines required in Zoning Ordinance No. 1409 on property
<br />that has been zoned under said Zoning Ordinance No. 1409.
