RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE REGIONAL CONTROLLED
SUBSTANCE APPREHENSION PROGRAM GRANT; AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF GRANTEE ACCEPTANCE NOTICE; MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 1 lth day of
December, 2000, in Resolution No. 2000-165, authorize an application to be made to the Office
of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for the Texas Narcotics Control Program (TNCP)
grant; and,
WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, has issued its Grant
Award entitled "Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program (Task Force)" Grant,
No. DB-01-A 10-13854-03, for the period beginning June 1,2001, and ending May 31, 2002, in
the total amount of $388,471.00, requiring a matching contribution of $129,490.00 in the form
of cash; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
of Paris accept said Grant Award and continue to suppress drug activity in and around the City
of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the Texas Narcotics Control Program Grant entitled "Regional
Controlled Substance Apprehension Program (Task Force)" Grant, No. DB-01-A 10-13854-03,
for the period beginning June 1, 2001, and ending May 31, 2002, in the total amount of
$388,471.00, requiring a matching contribution of $129,490.00 in the form of cash, be, and the
same is hereby, accepted.
Section 3. That the City Manager, the Chief of Police, and the Finance Director be, and
they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Grantee
Acceptance Notice, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached
hereto.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

This Acceptance Notice should be signed and returned to the Criminal Justice Division (CJD) by July 19, 2001.
The grantee will not receive any grant funds until this notice is executed and returned to CJD.
The authorized official, financial officer, and project director, referred to below as grantee officials, for this
grant project must read the following and indicate agreement by signing this Acceptance Notice below:
· The authorized official for the grantee accepts the grant award.
· The grantee officials agree to the terms of the grant, including the rules and documents adopted by
reference in Title I, Part I, Chapter 3, Texas Administrative Code.
· It is understood that a violation of any term of the grant may result in CJD placing a temporary hold on
grant funds, permanently deobligating all or part of the grant funds, requiring reimbursement for funds
already spent, or barring the organization from receiving future grants.
· The grantee officials understand that they must satisfy all special conditions placed on this gran£
before receiving any funds.
· The grant must have three separate persons designated to serve as grant officials.

Applicable special conditions are cited below. By signing and submitting the Grantee Acceptance Notice to
CJD, the grant officials accept the responsibility for the grant project and certify their agreement to the
conditions of grant funding.
