DRAFT <br /> <br />LISAkRESOLUTIONS\CLrRRENThMain Street Board - Re-establish and Appoint <br /> July 13, 2001 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, RE-ESTABLISHING AND APPOINTING MEMBERS TO <br />THE MAIN STREET PROJECT ADVISORY BOARD; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of March, <br />1998, by Resolution No. 98-031, establish the Main Street Project Advisory Board; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, although said Board was originally created to consist of ten (10) members, <br />the City Council finds and determines said Board should consist of an odd number of members in <br />order to effectively conduct business; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the terms of all members of said Board have expired, and it is deemed <br />appropriate the membership of said Board be revised to an odd number, same being nine (9), <br />prior to the appointment of new members thereto; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the reappointment <br />of Bill Payne, Suzy Harper, Barbara Wilson, Linda Suarez, and David House and the appointment <br />of Mary Ann Chalaire, Robyn Zimmerman, Patsy Davis, and Lisa Spann for terms of three (3) <br />years, beginning April 1, 2001, and ending March 31, 2004; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris does hereby deem it advisable to re- <br />establish and continue a Main Street Project Advisory Board to act in an advisory capacity to the <br />City Council in relation to the Main Street Project, assuming philosophical responsibility for all <br />activities of the Main Street Project. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Main Street Project Advisory Board so re-established will be <br />responsible for establishing program policy, determining the goals and objectives of the program, <br />and providing guidance and advice, with said Board to consist of nine (9) members for terms of <br />three (3) years each. <br /> <br /> <br />
