'vUHEREAS, The City of Paris owns a certair lot, tract or parcel
of land situated on Clement Road in the City of Paris, Lamar County,
Texas known as the City Abattoir property on which is located an
abattoir formerly operated by the City of Paris and presently operated
under lease from said City; arid,
WHEREAS, it appears ta the City Council that the disposal of
such Abattoir property and premises by sale is for the best interests
of said City, its government and its people; and,
6VHEREAS, by resolutian adopted by the City Council on June 13,
1955, the City Manager of the City of Paris was authorized and directed
to advertise for and receive sealea bids for the sale of such Abattoir
property and premises by publication of nctice thereof in the Paris
News; ancl,
WHEREAS, it appears that such notice was lawfully published and
given, including notice that such sealed bicis would be received in the
office of the City Manager of the City of Paris until 5:00 o'clock P.M.
on Monday, July 11, 1955; and,

lands and premises appears to be the highest bid therefor, ancl is a
fair and reasonable price therefor, and in an amount equal to or in
excess of the present market value cf the same; and,
VJHEREAS, it further appears to the City Council of the City of
Paris that the sale of such property and premises by the City of Paris

cash the following described tract or parcel of land, situated in Lamar
County, Texas, presently owned by the City of Paris, Texas, being the
Abattoir property and premises of said City, and described as follows:

BEGINNING at the SW corner of the 5 acre tract of land
described in deed from W. A. Connor, G. C. Connor, Jr.,
Pearle Connor Dickson arid husband Jchn T. Dickson, Daisie
C. Pierce and husband F. J. Pierce and Ermina C. Bray, a
feme sole, recorded in Book 154, Lamar County Deed Re-
cords, said point being the SW' corner of a tract of land
deeded to 0. C. Connor by J. R. Ryan by Deed recorded in
Book 108, Page 33, Lamar County Deed Records; thence
PJorth 200 E. 345 feet, a stake; thence North 83° 30° East
40 feet, a stake; thence North 200 East 195 feet, a
stake; thsnce East 265 ieet, a stake; thence South 500
feet, a stake in the tiB line of Clement Road; thence bvest
152 feet, a stake; thence South crossing Clement Road in
all 250 feet, a stake; thence West 200 feet, a stake;
thence Nort}i 250 feet, a stake in the PqB line of Clement
Road; thence VJest 148 feet to the place of beginning.
Save and except that portion of Clement Road, a public
road, included in the description herein above set out,
and subject to the terms and provisions of any outstand-
ing lease ar rental agreement heretofore executed by said
City and preser,tly in faxce, and further subject to any
existing and effective right of way easements vested in
any person, firm or corporation for any purpose.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30)
days after date of passage if no referendum petition is presented to
the City Clerk in accordance with the provisions and requirements of
ARTS. XAl1D XII of the Charter of the City of Paris.
Secticn 3. If no referendum petition is presented to the
City C1erk on or before thirty (30) days from the date of the passage
of this ordinance the Mayor of the City of Paris is hereby authorized
and directed to make, execute and deliver good and sufficient deed of
conveyance of said• pbove described property and premises to the said
w c N /Y1 o^S S , attested by the City Clerk,
upon receipt of the stipulated sum of $/,s^D o- o o to be paid to
the City of Paris by said grantee, provided that such deed shall in
all things conform to and be in accordance with the terms and provi-
sicns of this ordinance.
