SAID SECTION #11 0F ORDINANCE N0. 1271 WHICH 'vVAS APPRUVED BY
THE CITY COUNCIL Or THL CITY OF PARIS ON OCTGBiIZ 13, 1952.
THAT uJIIEREAS, The Lone Star Gas Company was hereto-
fore granted a franchise, and a Schedule of Rates was here-
tofore on October 13, 1952 approved by the City Council of
the Cit,y of Paris; and,
'WHER.LAS, said Schedule of Rates as shown in Section
#1, of Grdinance No. 1271 did not provicte for any charge for
inaugurating or reinaugurating gas service; and,
M-iEREAS, The Lone Star Gas Company has heretofore
requested that such Section #1, of Ordinance No. 1271 be
amended to provide for such inauguration or reinauguration
of gas service to residential and comrnercial custome.rs; and,
inTHEREAS, same has been heard by the City Council on
several occasions heretoiore, and the matter has bezn
thoroughly investigated bjT the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE,
B'U IT ORD1IINED 3Y THE CIiY COUPICIL 0F THE CITY OF PARIS:
That Section #1, of Urdinance No. 1271 of rates for
residential and commercial users of gas, as approved by the
City Council of the City o:f Paris on Gctober 13, 1952, be,
and the same is hereby amend.ed as follows:
That the Lone Star Gas Company be, and the same is
hereby permitted to make a charge not to exceed the sum of
One Dollar (41.00) per cUStomer for inaugurating or re-
inalzgurating gas services, except in cases as hereinaFter
prcvided;
That inauguration or reinauguration of service py
the coripanV shall, for the purposes of this ordinance, be
deemed to mean the unsealing of a sealed meter or installa-
tion of a new meter and turninb on of natural gas.
That the following classes of customers shall be
exempt frorri the payment of inauguration or reinauburation
oi the service charge herein provided:
l. Customer who has been removed from the
accounting records of Lone Star Gas
Cornpany as a custemer fcr a period of
more than twelve (12) months.
2. Churches, schools, and governmental
customers.
3. Customers whose service has peen
interrupted by a d.isaster or catas-
trophe, including fire, or acts of God.
4. New customers added to the Lone Star
ixas Company System in Paris, Texas.
5• Builders receiving service while building
is under construction.
All ardinar.ces or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed, a.nd this ordinance
shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
