That Sections 19 and 20 of Ordinance number 1074 passed by the City Council of the City of Faris on trie 16th day of February, 1942, entitled: "Ordinance nuruber 1074. Request f or inspeetion ar?d tests. (a) It shall be the dut,y of ttie pliLmber to give 24-hour notice, exclusive of Sundays and holidays, to the City Flumbing Inspector when plumbing work is ready for inspection or test. (b) It shall be the duty of the plumber to nake sure that the ti,lork stand inspection and the test prescribed before givin; the above notification. (c ) If the City Flurnbing Inspector find.s that the work vaill not pass the required inspection and test, the plumber sha1J_ make the required corrections and request a new inspection. Section 20. (A) Inspection and tests required. (1) There shall be not less than two in- spections of all plu?-,zbinq installed in any building. (2) 1.,",rhen "rough-in" is completed, the pip- ing of the plumbing systeLn- shall be inspected and given a water test or air test, as required by the Cit57 Plumbing In- spector. (3) After the plumbiiz- fixtures have been set and their traps Pilled with water, tre entire drainage system shall be inspected anci where required by the City Plumbing Inspector, shall be submitted to a final test. (4) The City Flumbing Inspector may re- quire the removal of an,p cleanouts or plugs on any test to ascertain iP the prssure has reac"ed all parts of the sy- stem. (5) The equipment, material, povJer, and labor necessary for required inspections and tests, shall be furnished b.y the plumber. (B) T_eatincz ot' d.rainage 3,ystem. (1) Water test. The water test may be appliea to the drainage syste.L~ in its entirety or in seet- ions. If applied to the entire s;;Tstem, all opsnings in the piping shall be tiklhtl: closed except one opening which shall be not less thari two (A) f eet above the high- est fixture irl th-_ builaing, and the system filled with water to the point of overflow at said opening. If the sys- tem is tested in sections, each openin.p shall be tightly plugged except the highest openinm of t!-B section under test, whieh opening shall be not less thazl two (2) feet above the highest fixture in the builaing, ana each section shall be filled witn water to the point oY overflow at said opening. The water shall be kept in the system, or the portion uXider test, f'or at least f'ifteen (15) minutes before the inspection starts; and the system shall be tight at all points vvithout leakage. (2) Air test. The air test shall be made by attaching an air compressor or testing apparatus to any suitable opening and after closing all other inlets ana out- lets to the system, forcing air into the s~vrstem until there is a uniform gage pressure of five (5) pounds per square inch or sufficient to balance a column of inercury ten (10) inches in height. This pressure shall be helci without the intro- duction of additional air for a period of at least fifteen (15) minutes. (3) Gas pipes and connections shall be re- quired to hold ten (10) potzn.d or more air pressure v;ithaut loss Por fiftean (15) minutes.
