BE IT (3RDAINED I3Y THE CITY COUXCZL OF `t'rE C ITX OF PARIS :
Section 1. That an ordinance heretofore passed by the
City Council of the City ot Paris on the 13th day of Suly,
1942, entitled "Ordinance no. 10900 in ordinance granting
to Texas Cities Gas Company the right to produce, manufactur&,
sell, furnish and supply gas to the general public in the
City of Paris, 'Z'exas, and its environs, and the right to
lay, ereCt and maintain along and under the streets, alleys
or other public highways such pipes, pipe lines and appur-
tenant equipment as may be necessary Por such purpose, and
the right to dig up pavements and parkways under named con-
ditions, providing coinpensation therefor, expressly repeal-
ing all prerious ordinances of the Citq of Paris ann amend-
ments tnereoP in anqwise conflicting with the provisions
hereof." be and the same is hereby amended and changed by
adding taereto and incorporating tnerein the i'ollowing;
«Section 6a. (1) Hereafter, the Cor:pany(the
present owner and holder of the rights granted in Ordinance
ro. 1090), as a reasonable criarge for the use of the street5,
alleys, and public ways in the Dity oY Paris, as hereinabove
set out, and in lieu of ell other charges, Yees or rentals
of every kind whatsoever, except advalorem taxes, general or
sgecisl, wizich said Sity is authorized to levy ana collect,
shall annually pay to the City of Paris a sun equal to tevo(2)
per cent of the annual gross reeeipts of such C%on-:pany derived
from the sale of gas to dou.estic and commercial consumers
within the city limits of of the City of Paris.
(2) A11 annual payments to the City
of pari a aceruing aYter the effeetive date hereof under the
terms of ang pre-existing contract or franchise, snall, when
paid to the City of Paris, be credited on the t-fltaliannual amount
owed by said Gompanq as provided by law.
(3) Because of the initial payment

Section 2. In order to aetermine the ,ross receipts
of the Company derived fro~i the sfile of gas to dom.estic
and/or comraercial consur-lers witnir the ~;ity of t'aris, the
Gompany shall file with the Oity Clerk, et the tir2e payments
are miade, a sworn report showing the total gross receipts
from, such sales for the respective year for which nayment

and ~-ecords of the Uoripany in order to determine the correet-
ness of the sworn reports required to be fiied.
Sectior, 3. All ordinances anu parts of or.dinances ir_

Section 4. Thi s ordinance shall become e ffective sixty
(60) days after third and final reading at tiiree separate
regular rneetings oY the ~;ity Council of the City of raris,
the last of ivhich shall take, placeinot less than thirty (30)
days from the first.
