AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONINC ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF PARIS AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLT5HED IN THE 201VING
MAP OF THE CITY OF PARIS, ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT
ON LAMAR AVENUE AT 21ST STREET S.E. IN SAID CITY TO INCLUDE
THEREIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS A RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT AND
DESIGNATEDING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT SO
ESTABLISHED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map of
the City of Paris be and the same are hereby amended and changed,
and that a commercial district be and the same is hereby estab-
lished at the soezthwest intersection of Lamar Avenue and 21st
5treet S.E. in the City of Paris, to include in the commercial
district the hereinafter described territory presently desig-
nated as a residential district, ancl tihat the boundaries of said
commercial district so designated be and the same are hereby
established as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersec;tion of the SB line of Lamar
Avenue with the WB line o.f 21st Street S.E.;
THENCE South with the WB l.ine of 21st Street S.E. ba feet,
a stake;
THENCE West d5 feet, a stake, the EB line of the Charles
Floyd proper°ty;
THENCE North with said EB line 65 feet to the place of
beginningo
SECTION 2o That the City Engirleer of the City of Paris
be and he is hereby authori7ed and directed to change the Zoning
Map of the City of Paris in accordance with the provisions of
this ordinance.
SECTION 30 ,All ordinances anci parts of ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.

We, the undersigned, 1l4rs. J. E. Hogan and lw2rs. ie:orris
S. Cass, being tne owners of a certain lot or parcel of land
uvithin the corporate limits of the City of Paris at the southtivest
i:ntersection of Lamar Avenue and 21st Street St-, fronting 95 feet
on Lamar Atirenue and having a depth of 60 feet on 21st Street SC
hereby request the City Council of the City of Paris by amend-
iiient of the present zoning ordinance to change the boundaries
of the district in which our said lot is situated so that it
will be embraced in a Commercial District as defined in said
zoning orclinance,for the reason it is at this time a non-conformin.g
use, and is across the street from Stellrose Cleaners, a cleaning
and pressing establishment, and Hogan Lumber Yard; and that due
notice be given and a public hearing be had in accordance with
the zoning ordinance.

Enclosed is a petition signed by Mrs. Hogan and
Mrs. Cass for a change to a commercial district for their
property at the southwest intersection of Lamar Avenue and
21st Street S.E., now occupied by a$ervice station and
lunchroom. Also enclosed is check for $25.00 to cover the
cost of the hearing, and a notice to be signed by you and
Hugh Parchman when the Council orders the hearing for the
12th of March at the February 12th meeting. If there will
be a special meeting which will allow the necessary time
for publication, we would like to have the time of the
hearing changed.
It will also be appreciated if you will have Mr.
Hicks make a survey of the area involved so that he will
be able to advise the Council respecting the residents
in the 300-foot area. If Mr. Hicks has a charge for this
I wish you would ask him to send me his statement of account;
and if the Council should order a hearing for any time other
than March 12th, please call me.
