4N OFQ3INANC,E TO AhMID Section 166, Chapter 16, Revised Ordinances of the City of
Paris, Texas, repealing all ordinances or amendments oP ordinances heretofore enacted
and not conf'orming to this amendment, and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINID BY TfE CITY CAtIKCIL OF THE CITY OF P.ARIS:
Section 1. That Seetion 166, Chapter 16, of the Revised Ordinances of the City of
Paris, Texas, reading as follours:
"Salaries oP Officers: That the officers of said court shall receive the Pollowing
compensation, to be paid out of the City Treasury in monthly installments:
The Recorde* shall receive Three Hundred and Sixty Dollars per annum, payable
monthly, an,d the Clerk shall receive Twelve Dollars per an.num, payable monthly,"
be and the same is hereby amended as f'ollows:
Section 29 Salaries of flfficers: That the officers of said court shall receive the
following compensation, to be paid out of the City Treasury in.monthly installments:
The Recorder shall receive Twe].ve Hundred Dollars per annum, payable monthly,
and the Clerk shall receive Twelve Dollars per annum, payable monthly.
All ordinances or amendments of ordinances heretofore enacted and not conforming to
this amendment are hereby expressly repealed so far as they so conflict hereurith and
shall be of no further effect.
Section 39 That this ordinance take ePfect from and after Ju19 15th, 1946. The fact
that costs of living and compensation for sercices have greatly increased, and that the
present compensation oP the City Recorder is inadequate creates a public emergencq which
is hereby deelared, and the rules and Charter provisions prohibiting the passage of an
ordinan.ce at the meeting introduced, and submitting the same to a Committee, are sus-
peaddd~. the same is accordingly done, and this Ordinance will take ePf ect from and after
