ORDINANCE DESCRIBING THE SALARIFS TO BE RECEIVED BY THE CITY SECRETARY AND
CHIEF OF POLICE OF THE CITY UF PARIS REPLALING ALL ORDINANCES OR AMENDMENTS
OF ORDINANCES HERETOFOf?E ENACTED AND NOT CONFORMING TO THIS AMENDMENT AND
DECLARZNG AN EMERGENCY:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THL CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1: Tha.t the City Secretary of the City of I'aris shall receive
as sa].ary Por the term for which he is ao elected on the basis of $"jp00.50 per
yeax to be paid to him in bi-nonthly installments of 2~.4(Oa.ch to be paid to
him on the lst and 15th days oP each calendar month; and the Chief of Police of
the City of Paris sha11 receive as salary for the term for which he is so eleeted
on the basis of C2700,00 per year to be pa3.d to him in monthly installments of
~~Z5,,00 each to be paid to him on the lat day of each calendar month.
Section 2: A1J. Ordinances or Amendments of Ordinances heretofore
enacted and not aonfornaing to this Ordinance are hereby expresaly repealed so
far as they confliat herewith and shall be of no Yurther effect.
Section 3s The fact that the aoet of living and the compensation for
services have greatlg increased.. and the present compensation of the City Secre-
tary and Chief of Police ig inadequate ereatea a pnblic emergeney which is herebsr
declared, and the rules and charter provisions prohibiting the passage of an
ordinance at the meeting at uhi.ch it is introduced and submitting the same to a
commd.ttee, are hereby auspended and the same is accordingly done and this ordinance
will take effect Prom and after gugust 14, 1948.
