2233 RES CITY COUNCIL ESTABLISHED CITY ENGINEER AS PROJECT ENGINEER AND MANAGER OF INFILTRATION/INFLOW PHASE II OF PROJECT NO C-48-1148RESOLUTION N0. 2233
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did
heretofore establish the City Engineer of the City of Paris
as Project Engineer and manager of Infiltration/Inflow Fhase
II of Project No. C-48-1148; and,
WHEREAS, upon the resignation of the City Engineer,
John Buss has been appointed project manager of said project;
and,
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish such tasks, it has been
necessary for the project manager to procure the services of
Babb Engineering, Inc, to provide professional services upon
the terms and conditions and in the form attached hereto as
Exhibit "A"; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the
City of Paris that such services be contracted for; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, that the Mayor of the City of Paris, Joe Graham, be,
and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City Council of the City of Paris, the profes-
sional services contract in the form of Exhibit "A" attached
hereto.

Exhibit "A"
Small Services Contract
for provision of
Sewer Design Field Survey
for
Step II Design Froject #C-48-1248
The term "sewer design field survey" as used above, refers to the
collection and compiling of physical data, to establish the accurate
location of pertinent topographic features as well as other physical
features which.are required to correlate sewer design with actual field
conditions. The information collected may include but is not limited
to the following.
1) Topography, surface conditions, details of paving to be
disturbed, underground structures or other unusual obstruc-
tions, and insofar as possible soil conditions.
2) Details of existing utilities with which a proposed sewer may
connect or interfere.
3) Locations of streets, alleys, streams or other surface features.
A. The proposer will nrovide the followina, services:
1) Al1 elevations will be on USGS datum.
2) Third order temporary construction benchmarks on 1,500 + foot
intervals along proposed sewer lines.
3) Install h" 0 X 18" iron markers (or suitable substitute) with
flaciged guard stakes at angle points, points of line intersec-
tions, center lines of streets, roads, highways, and fences.
Record angles of intersections with same. Such markers to be
referenced located to at least two visible reference points.
4) Develop field data in connection with railroad and highway
crossinas.
5) 6Vhere requested by City, the Proposer will perform a complete
topographic survey for 25' each side of the sewer base line at
50 foot intervals and any mid points where the surface may have
sudden changes due to creeks, ditches, streets, railroads,
highways, etc. All ground elevations to be the nearest 0.10
foot.
6) Reference all sewer base lines where they cross existing.fences
by centerline station, distance to nearest cross fence or corner
marker and give angle of sewer base line with property line.
7) Furnish engineer one complete copy of all survey field notes.
8) Proposer realizes timeliness of completion is of importance
and agrees to make a reasonable effort to complete work within
the time schedule requested.
Proposer's agreement with the City of Paris will also be governed by
the following conditions:
B. General
1) Al1 work performed shall be in sufficient detail to define the
work involved explicitly and to keep the professional responsi-
bility for its accuracy and completeness with the Proposer.
2) Payment for 5ervices to be made within 30 days of client's
receipt of invoice price of acceptable work. The lOg retained
balance to be payable upon City acceptance of completeness of
work and within 30 days of receipt of final notes. Payment for
services later than that set forth herein shall bear interest
at 12$ per annum.
3) Ownership of all documents produced shall be the property of
the City of Paris, Texas.
4) This arrangement may be terminated by either party upon 10
days written notice to the other. In such an event, you shall
furnish to us all project work calculations, documents, data,
drawings and sketches, developed to date of termination, and
we shall pay to you, all of your allowable cost to the date of
termination.
The pro rata portion of your fee shall be allowed unless
termination is based on unnrofessional or inability to timely
and comgetently perform.
5) Your contact person is John Buss, Project Engineer.
C. Pricing
The Proposer shall furnish the above services for the following
rates.
3 Man Field Crew. . . . . . $50.00 per hour
All Materials, Supplies, and other Direct Costs. Cost plus 150
In the event the amount of work is increased, the additional work
shall be paid for at an equivalent unit rate.
