83-019 RES ELECTION WAS HELD BY QUALIFIED VOTERS OF WARDS 4, 5, AND 7 OF COP ON 2ND DAY OF APRIL 1983RESOLUTION N0. 83-019
WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters
of Wards 4, 5, and 7 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on
the 2nd day of April, 1983, for the purpase of voting for
and electing the Councilmen from each of said Wards to serve
as members of the City Council for the ensuing two (2)
years, to-wit:

WHEREAS, as required by Order of the District Court of
the United States for the Eastern District of Texas, Paris
Division, in Civil Action No. P-75-3-CA, and as provided in
the Charter of the City of Paris and the laws of the State
of_ Texas wherein they do not conflict with said Order, such
election was conducted and held at three (3) specified and
designated polling places, that is one polling place in Ward
4, 5, and 7 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made by the
duly appointed and designated election officials of and for
the three (3) respective voting boxes, have been rnade to the
Mayor and City Council of the City of Paris, as required by
law, which returns after due and deliberate review and
canvass thereof, show the following results of said election,
to-wit:
(1) IN WARD FOUR (4) A TOTAL OF 14 VOTES WERE CP ST FOR

(3) IN WARD SEVEN (7) A TOTAL OF 189 VOTES WERE CAST FOR
COUNCILMAN FROri WARD SEVEN ( 7) AS FOLLOWS :
Oswald Guilliams 28 votes;
Jeff Hoog 120 votes;
Brian Peterson 3 votes;
Lorrin Scott 38 votes;
Write-In Candidates 0 votes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESULVED BY THE CITY CUUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF PARIS, that from the above and foregoing canvass
of the returns of the votes in the three (3) respective
voting boxes in such election, it is declared and determined
that Joe Graham is the person receiving the highest number
of votes of the votes cast at such election for Councilman
From Ward Four (4), and is therefore elected to serve as
Councilman Fram Ward Four (4) and as a member of the City
Council of the City of Paris for the ensuing two (2) years;
that Nathan J. Bell is the person receiving the highest
number of votes of the votes cast at such election for
Councilman Fror.i Ward Five (5), and is therefore elected to
serve as Councilman From Ward Five (5) and as a member of
the City Council of the City of Paris for the ensuing two
(2) years; and that Jeff Hoog is the person receiving the
highest number of votes of the votes cast at such election
for Councilman From Ward Seven (7), and is therefore elected
to serve as Councilr.lan Frorn Ward Seven (7) and as a member
of the City Council of the City of Paris ior the ensuing two
(2) years.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Paris in special session convened pursuant to the directions
of the City Charter of the City of Paris, Faris, Texas, on
this the 13th day of April, 1983.
