2112 RES CITY COUNCIL IS DESIROUS OF PROMOTING ENTERTAINMENT ACTIVITYRESOLUTION NO. 2112 .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of
promoting entertainment activity for its citizens and its trade area
with a radius of approximately fifty miles; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris would welcome the opportunity to
become the annual season opening site for The Dallas Cowboys
Basketball Team called the "Dallas Hoopsters"; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That it expresses its appreciation to the "Dallas Hoopsters"
for the charity benefit basketball game performed for
B.ig Brothers/Big Sisters of Lamar County on February 21, 1981; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That special appreciation is
given to Drew Pearson and Jay Saldi for their committment to open
the "Dallas Hoopsters" 1982 season in Paris, Texas; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Council of the
City of Paris solicits a committment from the "Dallas Hoopsters" to
open their basketball season in Paris annually.
