2158 RES COP ON 2ND DAY OF APRIL 1982 SUFFERED TERRIBLE TORNADO DAMAGERESOLUTION N0. 2158 ,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris did, on the 2nd day of April,
1982, suffer terrible tornado damage; and,
WHEREAS, such disaster requires the receipt and dis-
bursement of donated funds and grants to assist citizens
suffering injury and damage; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it
to be in the best interest of the City of Paris that Inter-
faith Disaster Services of Paris and Lamar County, Inc., a
non-profit corporation, be designated as the agency for
receipt and disbursement of such funds and to serve such
other needs for the administration of disaster relief as
it becomes apparent that such services are needed; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, that Interfaith Disaster Services of Paris and Lamar
County, Inc., be, and the same is hereby designated as the
official agency for the receipt and disbursement of funds
donated and granted for the relief of disaster victims.
