2163 RES COP SUFFERED EXTENSIVE TORNADO DAMAGE ON 2ND OF APRIL 1982RESOLUTION N0. 2163
WHEREAS, the City of Paris suffered a tornado dis-
aster on the 2nd day of April, 1982; and,
WHEREAS, the area of damage and destruction is defined
on Exhibit A attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris having been declared by
the Governor of this State a natural disaster area, it would
be right and proper as authorized in Section 22.2 of the
Property Tax Code of the State of Texas to authorize re-
appraisal of all property damaged in this disaster at its
market value immediately after the disaster; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, that the Tax Assessor of the City of Paris and the
Lamar County Tax Appraisal District, be, and they are hereby
authorized on behalf of the City of Paris to reappraise all
property damaged in the tornado disaster on the 2nd day of
April, 1982 at its market value immediately after such
disaster.
