2194 RES CITY COUNCIL AT ITS SEPCIAL MEETING ON 8TH DAY OF JULY 1982 APPROVE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDSRESOLUTION N0. 2194
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did
at its regular meeting on the 12th day of July, 1982,
approved the advertisement for bids for furnishing all
plant, labor, material, except for 2800 feet of Polyethylene
pipe which is provided by the City of Paris, and equipment
and performing all work required for the excavation of
approximately 2895 cubic yards of earth; backfilling of
trench consisting of approximately 458 cubic yards; placing
approximately 2550 feet of Polyethylene pipe; constructing
six (6) manholes; and miscellaneous items of related work
beginning at Pine Creek and proceeding South approximately
2550 feet toward the City of Paris entitled Main Outfall
Sanitary Sewer Construction, Phase I, which bids were
received until 10:00 o'clock A.M., Monday, August 2, 1982;
an d ,
WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction project
was made by Dual Construction, Inc., P. 0, Box 867,
Texarkana, Texas 75504, and it should be awarded the
contract for such construction; and,
WHEP.EAS, the form of contract for such construction
project is attached hereto as Exhibit A, and such form should
be approved; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
that the bid of Dual Construction, Inc., for the Main Outfall
Sanitary Sewer Construction, Phase I, in the amount of $89,426.00
is hereby accepted and let, conditioned upon said contractor
meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the
bid documents; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of
Paris, Joe Graham, be, and he is hereby authorized and
directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the
contract for the Main Outfall 5anitary Sewer Construction,
Phase I, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto with Dual Construction, Inc.

CONTRACTOn and ENGINEER, together with CONTRACTOR'S written
Proposal and the General Conditions of the Agreement hereto attached,
all of which are made a part hereof and collectively evidence and consti-
tute the entire contract.
The CONTRACTOR hereby agrees to commence work within ten (10)
days after the date written notice to do so shall have been given to him,
and to substantially complete the same within calendar working
days after the date of the written notice to commence work, subject to
such extensions of time as are provided by the General and Special
Conditions.
The OWNER agrees to pay the CONTRACTOR in current funds the
pr°ice or prices shown in the propasal, which forms a pazt of this con-
t.ract, such payments to be subject to the General and Special Conditions
of the contract.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the par.ties to these presents have executed
this Agreement in the year ar7d day first above written.
