2091 RES HISTORIC LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMITTEE OF COP THROUGH DONATIONS FINANCED PURCHASE OF COMPRESS FROM FARMERS AND MERCHANTS COMPRESSRESOLUTION N0. 2091
WHEREAS, the Historic Landmark Preservation Committee
of the City of Paris did through donations finance the
purchase of the Cor.mpress from the Farmers and Merchants
Coripress; and,
WHEREAS, the owner of said Compress site, Foy Crockett,
has offered a right-of-way easement for a period of ten (10)
years to the City of Paris describing the area upon which
the Compress Unit is located; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of
the historical preservation of the City of Paris that such
Compress Unit and easement be znaintained for the benefit of
the citizens of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the xight-of-way easement attached hereto as
Exhibit A is hereby accepted, and the Mayor of the City of
Paris, Michael L. Malone, be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to execute said right-of-way easement on be-
half of the City of Paris.

RIGHT-OF-WAY EASEMENT

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENT5: That I, Foy Crockett, being the
owner of certain real property located in the City of Paris, Lamar County,
Texas, which is hereinafter described, for and in consideration of the sum
of Ten Dollars ($10.00), cash, to me in hand paid by the City of Paris,
Texas, do hereby grant and convey unto the City of Paris, Texas, an easement
and right-of-way for the purpose of ingress and egress and use of the property
loca.ted in Lamar County, Texas, and described as follows:
A tract of land beginning at a point 256.8 feet North of the
railroad right-of-way, as shawn on the attache d plat; thence
West 116.4 feet to a point; thence North 62.3 feet to a point;
thence East 51 feet to a point; thence South 42.3 feet to a
point; thence East 65.4 feet to a point; thence South 20 feet
to the place of beginning, said land being more particularly
set forth on survey designated as EASEMENT AROUND COMPRESS UNIT
dated 2-25-81, which is attached hereto, made a part hereof and
marked as Exhibit "A".
TO H.AVE AND TO HOLD the above described easement and right-of-way
unto the City of Paris, Texas, for a period of years, or until
sooner terminated by revocation in writing by the grantor, Foy Crockett.
In the event that the grantor, Foy Crockett, should terminate this easement,
right-of-way, and permitted use of said property prior to said - 16 _ year
period, it is agreed that such revocati.on shall become effective-71-1.0 --days
after written notice is received by certified mai.l by the Mayor of the City
of Paris, and the Chairman of the Preservation Committee of the City of Paris,
Texas.
Tr,e City of Paris, Texas shall not have the right to assign this
easement, right-of-way or permitted use, or sublet, in any manner, any of
the real property involved Izerein.
In the event that the grantor, Foy Crockett, terminates this easement,
right-of-way, and permitted use, then and in that event the City of Paris,
Texas, shall vacate the real property involved herein within=4-2,nj--days.
In the event that the City of Paris, Texas, shall remove the compress
located upon the real property involved herein, the City of Paris shall fill
