CITY OF PARIS RESOLUTION N0. 2018 ,
PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT RESOLUTION N0. 80-3 .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris and the Board
of Trustees of Paris Independent School District deem it to be in the
best interest of the citizens of said City and said District to exer-
cise the authority granted them as local governments under the
Interlocal Cooperation Act, Article 4413(32c), Vernon's Texas Civil
Statutes, and form a Joint Board of Equalization; and,
WHEREAS, the appointment, financing and authority of said
Board shall be as stated in the interlocal contract attached hereto
as Exhibit A; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF PARIS INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT, That they do hereby agree to cooperate in the
forming of a Joint Board of Equalization to perform all tasks
necessary and required by the laws of the State of Texas for each
of said political subdivisions and in accordance with the interlocal
contract attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris,
in regular session convened, in the City Council Room, City Hall,
Paris, Texas, this the 14th day of April, 1980.

INTERLOCAL CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS
TEXAS, AND THE PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, PARIS,
TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR A_JOINT BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
STATE OF TEXAS I
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

' That the CITY OF PARIS, Paris, Texas, a municipal corpor-
ation, acting by and through its Mayor, duly authorized, herein-
after called City, and the PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT,
acting by and through its Board of Trustees President, duly
authorized, hereinafter called District, in consideration of the
mutual covenants, agreements, stipulations and payments, hereby
contract and agree as follows:
1. That the City and District agrees to appoint, by joint
resolution, a Board of Equalization consisting of three residents
who are qualified voters and real property owners of said City
and District, which Board of Equalization will perform all tasks
for both the City and District for taxable years, 1980 and 1981.
2. That the time of the meeting of the Joint Board of
Equalization be fixed for the second day of June, 1980, and the
first day of June, 1981.
3. That the regular place of ineetinu of the Joint Board of
Equalization shall be the Dixon Shelton Building, 517 Lamar
Avenue, Paris, Texas, which shall be furnished by District.
4. City agrees to provide for the preparation and mainten-
ance of all necessary records and minutes of the meetings of the
Joint Board of Equalization.
5. It is mutually agreed that the property values set by
said Joint Board shall be equalized and assessed at one hundred
per cent (100%) of actual value for both the District and the
City.
EXHIBIT A
6. The members of the Joint Board of Equalization sha11
be paid at the rate of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars per day,
which pay shal.l be borne equally by the City and School.
7. All costs of the equalization process, other than
specifically stated above, shall be borne equally by both City
and District.Such shared costs shall include any legal fees or
expenses incurred as a result of litigation challenging any
actions or decisions of the Joint Board of Equalization.
8. The term of this Agreement shall be from April 14, 1980
through December 31, 1981, unless either party gives written
notice, in the form of a resolution, to the other party that it
wishes to terminate this agreement, such notice shall be given
no later than April l, of the year iri which the agreement is to
be terminated.
IN WITNESS IMEREOF, this Agreement is executed by authority
granted in the joint resolution adopted by the governing bodies
on this 14th day of April, 1980.
