1912 RES CITY COUNCIL IS INTERESTED IN YOUTH OF PARIS AND LAMAR COUNTYRESOLUTION N0. 1912 ,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is vitally
interested in the youth of Paris and Lamar County; and,
WHEREAS, the Juvenile Judge, acting on behalf of the Juvenile
Board, has requested the City Council of the City of Paris to appro-
priate up to $5, 000. 00 to be used as matching funds for the procure-
ment of a grant through the Texas Department of Human Resources
to provide for a Youth Services Program heretofore known as Youth
Diversion Program; and,
WHEREAS, said program is described in Exhibit A attached
hereto; and,
WHEREAS, the funds appropriated by the City of Paris and
those received as grant from the Texas Department of Human
Resources are to be expended in accordance with the Budget for
Purchase of Services attached hereto as Exhibit B; NOW, THERE-
FORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the Director of Finance, H, C. Greene, be, and he is
hereby authorized and directed to pay to Lamar County an amount not
to exceed $5, 000. 00, conditioned upon said expenditure being for the
program descr.ibed in Exhibit A attached hereto, with expenditures
being made only in accordance with Exhibit B attached hereto; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That Robert W. Sokoll, City
Manager of the City of Paris, is hereby authorized and directed to
monitor the above described program and expenditures and to make
periodic reports to the City Council of the City of Paris with regards
to the effectiveness of said program and the appropriatness of the
expenditure of such public funds.
