1825 RES CITY COUNCIL AT ITS REGULAR MEETING ON 8TH DAY OF AUGUST 1977 APPROVED ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDSRESOLUTION N0. 1825 0
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its
regular meeting on the 8th day of August, 1977, approve the adver-
tisement for bids for furnishing the construction of a 20 foot by 60
foot Police Firearms Training Building, in accordance with detailed
plans and specifications, dated August, 1~77, which bids were re-
ceived until 10:00 o'clock A. M. , Wednesday, September 7, 1977;
a nd,
WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction was made by
Murphy Building Company, and it should be awarded the contract
for such construction work; and,
WHEREAS, the form of contract to furnish such construction
work is attached hereto as Exhibit A; NO~, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the bid of Murphy Building Company for furnishing the
construction of a 20 foot by 60 foot Police Firearms Training
Building, within 30 calendar days, in the amount of $3, 495. 00, is
hereby accepted and let, conditioned upon said contractor meeting all
of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents; and,
BE IT rURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager of the
City of Paris, Kerry R. Sweatt, be, and he is hereby authorized and
directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the contract for
the above described work, upon the terms and conditions and in the
form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto, with Murphy Building
Company.

INVITATION TO BIDDERS
The City of.Paris will receive sealed bids at the office of
City Manager, P.O.Box 1037, Paris, Texas, for the.construction
of a Police Firearms Training Building to be located at the
Paris Police Firearms Range at Cox Field, approximately twenty
(20) by sixty (60) feet.
Bids will be received until 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 7,
1977, at which time bids will be opened, tabulated and referred
to the City Council for their consideration at the meeting at
7:00 P.M., Monday, September 12, 1977.
Bidders are notified of City exemption from otherwise applicable
sales and excise taxes.
The City of Paris reserves the right to reject any or all bids,
to award totally or separately as may be advantageous to the
City.
Notice to Bidders, Specifications and Bid Forms may be obtained
in the office of the City Manager.

SPECIAL PROVISION
l. WAGE RATES. All employees of the Contractor on the work to
be performed under this contract shall be the minimum allowed in
compliance with the civil status of the State of Texas and to con-
form with the U.S. Department of Labor Employment Standards Admin-
istration, in accordance with provisions of the Davis-Bacon Act.
2. GUARANTY AGAINST DEFECTIVE WORK. Contractor shall indemnify
the owner against any repairs which may become necessary to any part
of work performed under this contract, arising from defective work-
manship or materials used there-in, for a period of one (1) year
from the date of final acceptance of the work.
3. CLEANUP. At the conclusion of the work, all tools, temporary
structures and materials belonging to the Contractor shall be promptly
removed and all dirt, rubbish and other foreign substances shall be
disposed of.
4. QUANTITY OF WORK. The OWNER reserves the right to add to or
reduce the quantity of work to be done under this proposal by an
amount not to exceed 200 of the surface area stated in Item No. 1
of the Bid Proposal.
Any addition or reduction to the Bid will be established by a per
square foot unit price determined by dividing the Lump Sum price
by the Total Surface Area.

DETAILED SPECIFICATInNS
CONSTRUCTION OF A POLICE FIREARMS TRAINING BUILDING
1. Exhibit A attached hereto.
2. Roof covering and wall covering around storage area to be
of 29 gauge sheet iron.
3. Foundation shall consist of 4" concrete, 5 sack mix, re-
inforced with 6"x 6" x 10" gauge wire mesh on a base 4"
minimum thickness.
4. Support post shall be creosote treated minimum of 4"
in diameter at top.
5. City will furnish door for installation by contractor.
6. Shelving to be installed as shown. Shelves shall be
attached to wall framing with necessary wood supports
to maintain rigidity. Shelves shall be at 2', 4', and
6' levels, measured from top of slab.
