1831 RES CITY COUNCIL AT ITS REGULAR MEETING ON 12TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER 1977 APPOROVED ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDSRESOLUTION N0. 1831 ,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its
regular meeting on the 12th day of September, 1977, approve the
advertisement for bids for furnishing the construction of asphalt
overlay of the Cox rield Nor~h -South Runway (6000' x 15~' ) and
other related work, dated August, 1977, which bids were received
until 10:00 o'clock A. M. , Wednesday, October 5, 1977; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction was made by
W. A. McKenzie Asphalt Company, Commerce, Texas, and it
should be awarded the contract for such construction work; and,
WHEREAS, the form of contract to furnish such construction
work is on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF T~-E CITY OF
PARIS, That the bid of W. A. McI<enzie Asphalt Company for
furnishing the construction of asphalt overlay of the Cox Field
North -South Runway and other related work, within 75 calendar
days, in the amount of $244, 747. 45, is hereby accepted and let,
condi~ioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and
specifications included in the bid documents; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager of the
City of Paris, I<erry R. Sweatt, be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, a contract
for the above described work, upon the terms and conditions and
in the form on file in the official records of the City of Paris,
Office of the City Clerk, Paris, Texas, entitled Specifications and
Contract Documents for the Construction of Cox Field Airport,
N-S Runway Overlay, FAA Project No. 6-48-0169-03 and
6-48-0169-04, dated August, l_977, with W. A, McI<enzie Asphalt
Company.
