1833 RES CITY COUNCIL AT ITS REGULAR MEETING ON 10TH DAY OF OCTOBER 1977 APPROVED ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDSRESOLUTIUN N0. 1833 ,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its
regular meeting on the lOth day of October, 1977, approve the
advertisement for bids for the furnishing and installation of two
(2) Heating and Air Co~ditioning Units at the Cox Field Airport
Terminal Building, in accordance with detailed specifications dated
November, 1977, which bids were received until 10:~J0 o'clock
A. M. , Wednesday, November 9, 1977; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for such equipment was made by
Preferred Air Conditioning of Paris, Inc., and it should be awarded
the contract for furnishing and installation of such equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the form of contract to furnish and install such
equipment is attached hereto as Exhibit A; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, That the bid of Preferred Air Conditioning of Paris,
Inc. , for the furnishing and installation of two (2) Heating and Air
Conditioning Units at the Cox Field Airport Terminal Building,
within 60 calendar days, in the amount of $4, 025. 00 is hereby
accepted and let, conditioned upon said contractor meeting a11 of
the terms and conditions included in the bid documents; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager of the
City of Paris, I<erry R. Sweatt, be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the contract
with Preferred Air Conditioning of Paris, Inc, for the furnishing
and installation of two (2) Heating and Air Conditioning Units at
the Cox Field Airport Terminal Building, upon the terms and con-
ditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
The City of Paris will receive sealed bids at the office of City 14anager,
P. O. Box 1037, Paris, Texas for the furnishing and installation of two
(2) Heating and Air Conditioning Units at Cox Fie1d Airport Tern2ina2
Building.
Bids will be received until I0:00 A.M., 67adnesday, November 9, 2977, at
which time bids will be opened, tabulated and referred to the City Cauncil
for their consideration at the meetzng at 7:00 P.M., Monday, November 14,
1977. Bidders are requested to use attached bid forms to submit b.ids on this
matter.
Specifications describing equipment upon which bids will be received are
attached hereto.
Detailed information of p.roduct model and type should be inc.Zuded with
bid proposal.
Bidders are expected to familiarize themselves with the building in which
the heating and air conditzaning will be installed. Bidclers should contact
Horace Shires, Building Inspector, 785-7511, for an inspection tour of the
building.
The City of Paris reserves the right to re,ject any or a13 bids, to waive

SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE FURNISHING AND
INSTALLRTION OF HEATING AND AIR-CONDITIONING
EQUIPMENT - COX FIELD AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING
The City of Paris proposes to replace the present heating and air-conditioning
system for the airport terminal building with two (2) separate units as per
the fol l owi ng :
1. Cooling: Each unit shall have a 3 phase, 240 volt condensing element
capable of producing 57,000 BTU based on ARI Rating @ 95 degrees outside,
dry bulb; Indoor @ 78 degrees dry bulb and 65 degrees wet bulb.
2. Heating: Each unit shall have a 25 KW (2 stage) electric resi5tance
heating element wired for 240 V, 3 phase e1ectric characteristics.
3. Blawer: Blower element shall be designed for not less than 2000 CFM.
4. Contractor shall furnish and install as per manu-Facturers recommendations,
suction and liquid refrigerant lines from indoor evaporator to roof mounted
condensing units. Suction lines sha11 be insulated with no less than
thick foam rubber.
5. Contractor shall provide and install, for each system, a two stage heating
and single stage cooling thermostat. The cooling module sha11 energize roof
mounted condensing unit and blo4ver motor. The heating modu1e shall energize
15 K.W first stage and 10 KW secand stage for each unit.
6. Contractor is expected to provide all electrical work required for the
installation of the two systems.
7. Contractor is to use existing duct work for the distribution of conditioned
air from the new units. Old heating and air conditioning units are to be
removed and become the property of the contractor. Contractor shall sea1 off
all duct work not necessary to the new system.
8. System installed shall be warranted for a period of not 1ess than one (1)
year from date of acceptance and in addition to the one year warranty, manu-
facturer shall warrant compressor motor only for an additional four (4) years.
9. 4Jarranty Certificates shal1 be submitted to the City by the Contractor.
10. Efficiency Rating: System shall have a minimum EER rating of 7.0.
