1876 RES CITY COUNCIL ESTABLISHED PARKS AND RECREATION BOARDRESOLUTION N0. 1876 .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
deems it advisable to establish a Parks and Recreation Board to act
in an advisory capacity to the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, such Board should study and make recommendations
concerning the parks and recreation needs of the citizens of Paris;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the Parks and Recreation Board is hereby created, to
consist of nine ~(9) resident citizens, taxpayers and qualified voters
of the City of Paris, Lamar County, Texas, who have a strong in-
terest in the parks and recreation needs of the citizens of Paris; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That such members shall be ap-
pointed by the City Council; the initial board consisting of three (3)
members appointed for one year terms; three (3) members for two
year terms and three (3) members for three year terms, and there-
after all appointments shall be for three year terms with partially
completed terms being filled for the remainder of said terms.
