1893 RES CITY COUNCIL AT ITS REGULAR MEETING ON 14TH DAY OF AUGUST 1978 APPROVED ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDSRESOLUTION N0. 1893 , ~
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its
regular meeting on the 14th day o~ August, 1978, approve the ad-
vertisement for bids for the furnishing of 2 pumps and motors,
2 motor controls, 2 pump control valves and Z butterfly valves,
for use at the Water Treatment Plant, which bids were received
until 10:00 o'clock A. M. , Wednesday, September 6, 1978; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for the 2 pumps and motors, in the
amount of $67, 498. 00, was made by Southern Engine & Pump Co. ;
the best bid for 2 motor controls, in the amount of $11, 518. 77,
was made by General Electric; the best bid for 2 pump control
valves, in the amount of $10, 464. 00, was made by Asa Hunt, Inc. ;
and the best bid for 2 butterfly valves, in the amourt cf $2, 760. 00,
was made by Allis Chalmers Company, and each should be
awarded the contract for the furnishing of such equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the forrr~ af contract for the furnishing of the
above described equipment by the four separate bidders are
attached hereto as Exhibits A through D; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, That the bids of Southern Engine & Pump Co. ,
General Electric, Asa Hunt, Inc. and Allis Chalmers Company,
for the furnishing of the several items of equipment described
above, are hereby accepted ar~ let, conditioned upon said con-
tractors meeting all of the terms and specifications included in
the bid documents; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager of the
City of Paris, Robert W. Sokoll, be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the four
contracts for the furnishing of the above described equipment,
upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibits A
through D attached hereto, with Southern Engine & Pump Co. ,
General Electric, Asa Hunt, Inc, and Allis Chalmers Company.
