1895 RES PUBLIC WORKS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1965 BEING PUBLIC LAW 89-136 AS AMENDEDRESOLUTION N0, 1895 .
WHEREAS, Public ~orks and Economic Development Act of_
1965, being Public Law 89-136, as amended, provides funding
for Economic Development Grants and Loans for Public Works
and Development Facilities; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did
heretofore in Resolution No. 1796 authorize the processing of
a grant preapplication for the Extension of Water Distribution
Lines to Serve Industrial Area in the Southwest Section of the
City of Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris has been invited to make an
application for the Extension of Water Distribution Lines to
Serve Industrial Area in the Southwest Section of the City of
Paris, Texas, at a total project cost of $340,000.00, $204,000.00
to be provided by grant and $136,000.00 ~o be provided by local
funds and in kind services; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PARIS ;
1. That an application be made to the Economic Development
Administration, Southwest Regional Office, Austin, Texas, 78701,
for a grant in the amount of $204,000.00, being 60% of the
estimated cost of the Extension of Water Distribution Lines to
Serve Industrial Area in the Southwest Section of the City of.
Paris, Texas project, with the City of Paris providing $136,000.00
in in kind services and funds.
2. That Robert W. Sokoll, City Manager of the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas, be, and he is hereby designated Certifying
Representative and is hereby authorized and directed on behalf
of the City of Paris to execute and file the application in the
form attached hereto as Exhibit A.
3. That Joe McCollum, Director of Community Development
of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby designated Contact
Person to execute and deliver all other communications, in-
struments, assurances and documents necessary for the completion
of said projects .
