1777 RES PUBLIC CONVNIENCE, SAFE AND NECESSITY OF COP REQUIRE STATE HIGHWAY ROUTES ARE INADEQUATELY MAINTAINEDRESOLUTION NO. 1777 , WHEREAS, the public convenience, safety and necessity of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and the people of the City of Paris, re- quire that State Highway routes within the City be adequately main- tained; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris has requested that the State of Texas, enter upon and contribute financially to the maintenance of said State Highway routes; and, WHEREAS, the State of Texas has made it known to the City of Paris that it will, with its forces and equipment and at its sole cost and expense, enter upon and maintain said project, conditioned upon the provisions concerning liabilities and responsibilities for main- tenance, control, supervision and regulation, which are set out in the "MUNICIPAL MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT", dated November 8, 1976, attached hereto as Exhibit A; and, WHEREAS, said project consists of those State Highways and/or portions thereof, which are described and included in said Municipal Maintenance Agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That James M. Brunette, Mayor of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the contract with the Texas Highway Department, providing for mainte- nance by the State of Texas of Texas Highways within the corpo rate limits of the City of Paris, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto.
