1749 RES PORTION OF EXISTING HIGHWAY ROW ON SOUTH SIDE ON US 82 MAY BE NO LONGER NEEDED FOR HIGHWAY PURPOSESRESOLUTION NO. 1749 ,
WHEREAS, a portion of existing highway right-of-way on the
south side of U. S. 82 (Lamar Avenue) just west of Loop Highway
286 in the City of Paris, more particularly described on Exhibit A
attached hereto, may be considered by the State Highway and Public
Transportation Commission to be no longer needed for highway pur-
poses; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Texas through the State Department
of Highways and Public Transportation proposes to convey said
right -of -way to the abutting property owner; and,
WHEREAS, said right-of-way is needed for utility and
drainage purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is in con-
currence with the State of Texas that said right-of-way is no longer
needed for street purposes by the citizens of Paris; NOW, THERE-
FORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the right-of-way proposed to be conveyed to the abutting
property owner by the State of Texas is no longer needed for the
use of citizens of Paris for street purposes, and upon the execution
of the utility and drainage easement in the form of Exhibit B attached
hereto by John C. Culpepper, Jr. , the City of Paris concurs with the
State's proposal to convey the 0. 354 acre tract described on Exhibit A
attached hereto to the abutting property owner, John C. Culpepper, Jr.
