1717 RES TWO VACANCIES EXIST ON MEMBERSHIP OF FIREMEN'S AND POLICEMEN'S CIVIL SERVICE COMMRESOLUTION NO. 1717 .
WHEREAS, there exists two vacancies on the membership of
the Firemen's and Policemen's Civil Service Commission of the
City of Paris, due to the resignations of Gene M. Belew and Elbert
E. Barbee, Jr. , and it is necessary to appoint their successors, and
the City Manager of the City of Paris, Kerry R. Sweatt, having ap-
pointed James W. Farris to serve the unexpired term of Gene M.
Belew, which terminates December 31, 1976, and Gyles Norwood to
replace Elbert E. Barbee, whose term has expired, and has sub-
mitted the names of such persons to the City Council of the City of
Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the appointment, as members of the Firemen's and
Policemen's Civil Service Commission of the City of Paris, of
James W. Farris to serve the unexpired term of Gene M. Belew,
which terminates December 31, 1976, and Gyles Norwood to serve
through December 31, 1977, is by the City Council of the City of
Paris hereby approved and confirmed.
