1708 RES CITY COUNCIL IN RES NO 1450 AUTHORIZED APPLICATION FOR GRANTRESOLUTION NO. 1708 .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did hereto-
fore in Resolution No. 1450 authorize application for grant under
Section 709 of Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961 as amended,
for the purpose of restoring the Maxey Museum; and,
WHEREAS, a grant offer in the amount of $27, 988. 00 was
made to the City of Paris and accepted by the City Council of the
City of Paris in Resolution No. 1546, said project being designated
Project No. HPR-TX-06-16-1001; and,
WHEREAS, said project was divided into two phases, and
Phase One has heretofore been completed; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did at its
Council Meeting on the 28th day of July, 1975, approve the adver -
tisement for bids for completion of Phase Two of the Maxey
Museum Project, which is now known as Maxey House Preservation,
in accordance with detailed plans and specifications, which bids
were received until 10:00 o'clock A. M. , August 20, 1975; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for said restoration was made by
Frank Horne, d/b/a Will Horne & Son, Paris, Texas, and he should
be awarded the contract for such restoration; and,
WHEREAS, the form of contract to complete said restora -
tion project is attached hereto as Exhibit A; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, That the bid of Frank Horne, d/b/a Will Horne & Son,
to complete Maxey House Preservation Phase Two, Hud Project No.
HPR-TX-06-16-1001, in the amount of $40, 861. 61, is hereby
accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of
the terms and specifications included in the bid documents; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City
of Paris, James M. Brunette, be, and he is hereby authorized and
directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the contract
with Frank Horne, d/b/a Will Horne & Son, to complete Maxey
House Preservation Phase Two, upon the terms and conditions and
in the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto.
