RESOLUTION NO. 1658 ,
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did at a
<br />Special Council Meeting on the 30th day of October, 1974, approve
<br />the advertisement for bids for North-South Runway Extension and
<br />Related Improvements, Cox Field, Paris, Texas, in accordance
<br />with detailed plans and specifications for which bids were re-
<br />ceived until 10:00 o'clock A. M. , Wednesday, November 20, 1974;
<br />and,
<br />WHEREAS, the
<br />best bid for
<br />said
<br />project was made by
<br />Crookham and Vessels,
<br />Inc. , P. O.
<br />Box
<br />1088, Sherman, Texas,
<br />and should be awarded
<br />the contract
<br />for
<br />such project; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration and the
<br />Texas Aeronautics Commission are participating in said project,
<br />which amounts of participation and City of Paris budgeted amount
<br />for such project dictate the removal from the detailed plans and
<br />specifications of such project the items, quantities and amounts
<br />attached hereto as Exhibit A, making the adj usted bid amount
<br />$336, 839. 00; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the form of contract to construct said project
<br />is attached hereto as Exhibit B; NOW, THE REFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF PARIS, That the bid of Crookham and Vessels, Inc. , as
<br />amended by Exhibit A attached hereto, to construct to completion
<br />within 240 calendar days according to detailed plans and specifi -
<br />cations the North-South Runway Extension and Related Improve-
<br />ments, Cox Field, Paris, Texas, in the amount of $336, 839. 00 is
<br />hereby accepted and let, conditioned upon approval of Federal
<br />Aviation Administration, Texas Aeronautics Commission and upon
<br />said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications in-
<br />cluded in the bid documents; and,
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City
<br />of Paris, James M. Brunette, be, and he is hereby authorized and
<br />directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the contract to
<br />construct said North-South Runway Extension and Related Improve-
<br />ments, Cox Field, Paris, Texas, upon the terms and conditions
<br />and in the form shown in Exhibit B attached hereto.
